Ok but what about decks where the GY is like a second hand? Yes it's a reach, but that's the only way Chosen One could be MAYBE good
ОтветитьI don’t think Super Robolady and Super Roboyarou should be worse than Fairy Guardian. They’re bad, yes, and probably qualify for the list, but weren’t there several ways to cheat them out of the Extra Deck back then? Like, they are bad, but at least they only have beneficial effects, unlike Fairy Guardian.
ОтветитьEveryone remembers the Jam Defender combo from the anime. That version was an insane card since it just spawned a Revival Jam to block every attack.
ОтветитьJust wanna say return of the doomed can be played super well. I would always use it to where I discard a monster I would sacrifice for and send it to the graveyard. Get back the monster that was destroyed. Then use Call of the haunted or premature burial to bring out the monster I just discarded. Worked everytime
ОтветитьIt says in Jam Breeding Machine that you can still set summon monsters. So it doesn't fully lock you out of summoning.
ОтветитьThe most important lesson I am taking from this series is just how bad I'd be as a Yu-Gi-Oh player. Some of these cards seemed fine to me, so I guess that's a warning to not even bother playing the game if my brain is that bad.
ОтветитьNothing was more infuriating than opening a LON pack and seeing either lightning conger or flying fish..
ОтветитьI really like the concept of chosen one. Personally i would like to see a retrain that ignores summoning conditions and is more playable. Would be very cool.
ОтветитьLet’s be honest if superroboyaru was white the card would see more play. But since it’s black it really doesn’t surprise me why it sucks.
ОтветитьIm a pro Duel Monster player (you cant paly yugioh, an anime) and could build a deck out of this cards and beat kashtira, tearlament, branded or whatever.
ОтветитьOnce i played yubel with jam breeding machines and i couldnt summon worst nightmare yubel , is not a good card
ОтветитьReturn of the doomed was only used to get back limited cards and we tossed sinister serpent to it
ОтветитьJam Defender would have been fun in casual play if Revival Jam just didn’t demand you pay your firstborn son in life points just to use
ОтветитьWouldn't Return it the Doomed arguably be more powerful in the current meta with the amount of graveyard effect monsters? You get to choose what goes to the graveyard. And there are monsters with good crash effects, so you could crash into something, set up your graveyard and get your crasher back all in one turn. I'm sure someone better than me could make that a thing.
ОтветитьI think jam breeding machine was originally meant to be a part of a big combo for the Egyptian god cards, specially that one episode where that guy used slyfer
ОтветитьI will NOT tolerate Jam Breeding Machine slander
ОтветитьFairy Guardian has such a aesthetics card artwork, but it's wasted on a monster with a horrible effect
ОтветитьChosen One could actully be very good if the cards wasn't from your hand but from your Deck, even if you didn't win the gamble you would have the advantage to send 3 cards of your choice to the Graveyard, something that could work as an advantage in several Decks
ОтветитьSimilarly to Nuvia the Wicked, I believe Boar Soldier is even worse:
- Same ATK (2000), lower DEF (500)
- Decrease 1000 ATK if opponent controls any monster at all
I believe both are around back in Joey days
They should errata Jam Defender or make a new one that makes it so that when Revival Jam is destroyed by battle it is special summoned to the field after damage calculation and if it destroyed by card effect you can special summon it back to the field after that card effect resolves and Revival Jam is successfully destroyed, to make it more like it's anime counter part and make it a bit more useful.
ОтветитьCan't believe I'm being reminded of how shite my Gradius equipment deck was back in the day. I made a whole deck centered around equipping Gradius with a ton of cards and being able to bulldoze even berry monsters like Blue Eyes. I never got to actually play with the deck, but clearly it would not have been a good time.
ОтветитьI dunno why but Fairy Guardian's existence as a card makes me mad at Konami
ОтветитьLet's be honesy. Joey would 100% run Chosen One.
ОтветитьIt was weird that Chosen One was limited at some point, i think a particular level one monster benefitted from that specifically. Anyway, Duel Log’s description of Chosen One sounded like a Scott Steiner promo, as the numbers don’t lie, which spells disaster for you, at Sacrifice!
ОтветитьI remember using this exact thing with gradius, cyclon laster and both mage power and united we stand. Gotta say it makes you feel good when you win like that! 😂
ОтветитьI don't know why Konami thought that Jam Breeding Machine was soooo good that they decided to put a restriction that counters the very reason you would ever use it in the first place.
ОтветитьAs a kid I played the Super Robo cards and loved them even though they were bad, that whole deck was awful even for back then standards but it was my deck lol.
ОтветитьMirror was a fun tech against Yata Lock though...
ОтветитьThat moment when you have several of these cards in your box 😅
ОтветитьChosen One bizarrely made me go caveman thinking of combining Paleozoic with Skull Servants.
And even then, my two babies are never to be combined anyways, lol.
Gradius and all of it's support purely exists in Yugioh because Konami is proud of that franchise.
ОтветитьTheoreticals : Apparently Double Snare got better, on paper, as time went on as "negating trap effects" because a common boss thing
so theoretically you could... try, and snipe stuff like Equimax, and...
uh, cosmic... quasar dragon?
Stole multiple
ОтветитьWhat was the fucking point of nuvia when it released
ОтветитьChosen one is surprisingly okay in a Tearlaments deck. Not a card you would run, but its useable.
ОтветитьFunny enough chosen one could have been banned if just one single word was changed that being: "hand" to "deck" because if it selected the 3 cards from the deck then it would be broken and would just be a better version of dark matter dragon
ОтветитьThe super robo art went so hard tho
ОтветитьJam breeding machine had potential. Marik's combination with Revival Jam was deadly.
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid I was obsessed with jam tokens, and tokens in ygo in general. I tried so so hard to make every token generating card I owned into a threat, including my treasured two jam generators! I don't think those decks won a single game...
ОтветитьFengsheng Mirror was absolutely better than double snare and cyclon laser
Ответитьrarity really mattered back then.
some of the cards or combos you listed in your 'Worst Classic' series were only 'bad' or even the worst of options, because you would have had to get so incredibly lucky to get a Gemini Elf, or any other 'the best card' of that kind
if you didn't have GE, you had to make do.
It's fun to theorycraft for old set release; virtually or in retrospect.
but let's not forget how inaccessible and pay to win old YGO was
Jam breesing machine goes hard in duel generations
ОтветитьWe keep winning, Zone Eater bros.
ОтветитьI’m a bit surprised you didn’t include Monster Recovery here, as it is a direct -2 effect that also takes a monster off of your field.
Spiritualism is another possibility tbh. That card is awful.
"Chosen One" is essentially a kind of card Yugi would play at the end of the duel to win because he has destiny draw - you'd literally have to have an anime moment for this card to actually work for you.
ОтветитьTina from Bob's Burgers would love OCG Yu-Gi-Oh, all the butts 😂
ОтветитьFairy guardian x tainted wisdom is the ultimate strategy
ОтветитьYou're not sure why Nuvia has 2 negative effects when Gemini Elf had none(?) Gemini Elf is a secret rare of that set, not everyone had it
ОтветитьCan you make a list of the top 10 worst cards with ‘D’ in the name and make a joke with each card name? (Lord of D, D Human, etc)
Ответить
