Do you think Intel will keep up with AMD's innovations?

i wanna see true 3D stacked Chips More than whqat teh 5800X3D and 7XX0X3D cpus im talking AMD CCDs on top the I/O Die with stacked RDNA cores and CPU cores witha massive 128-256MB 3D V-cache not only for teh CPU cores but also RDNA cores *RDNA5 or RDNA6) or a full Zeplin 8 core (zen1) style core 3Dstacked 2-4x would be sick

AMD is innovating but their msrp for CPUs and especially GPUs has gone through the roof. Lisa Su stated 3 years ago that she no longer wants AMD to be known as the cheap and cheerful company, but a high end competitor to blue and green. Her greed and price hikes is not sustainable. Consumers will ditch X86 and migrate to W12 and cheaper ARM based CPU's.

I think you got it wrong. I believe Ryzen 8000 will be Zen 4 APU's (G) and Zen 5 mobile. Ryzen 9000 will be Zen 5 mid 2024.

AMD's game plan is literally just waiting for TSMC to make smaller process nodes, and then use those smaller nodes to squeeze in more transistors for a small IPC increase. Nothing new. Nothing innovative. They're still crippled by their chiplet design. Latency is still high because Infinity Fabric is still the bottleneck. Their X3D chip is good if the game has low to medium assets. But as soon as a game overloads the 3D cache with assets, and the cache is full, the CPU is forced to go through the IO die to reach into RAM, then performance dropped so hard. I had to return my 7800X3D because the 1% low was getting into the 90s fps whenever there were a lot of stuffs going on in the games I play, and started to look choppy on my 240hz.

It's sad but I believe that amd's future is downhill because of their greed since this woman took over the company.AMD used to be the goto for poorer people but not anymore since their prices have become obscene and worth has dropped. I feel sorry for the people they had duped with their claims of so much better performance than Intel when it just isn't true anymore.

there are no amd iinovations, only faills, ram incompatibilities, error nobody knows why, and yet another generation of unstable platform, just like now. ask your question in 10 years

I am thinking my next upgrade will be in the 9000 series or 10000 series amd cpu. so late 2025 or early 2026 5-6 years between builds should be good enough time to see a good difference in performance without wasting money on small incremental upgrades.

Well this is totally disappointing.
Only one more CPU upgrade for Zen 5, why even bother. Why even bother having gotten on this platform.
What a rlp0ff.... maybe if Ryzen 9000 and 10,000 processors would of worked on it, it would of been worthwhile.
I'm not even going to bother to go from an 7950x to an 8950x, because there is no compelling reason to do so...

It's not difficult to see where the idea that zen6 might have CPU chiplets on top of the IO die comes from. It is exactly what they do in the recently launched MI300A APU and MI300X GPU.

I'm kinda tired of huge PC case builds and have started to like mini pcs and small mini itx builds so I'm looking forward to Ryzens new APUs along with the rumoured Pro versions. I recently purchased a Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra with the 3x M.2 slots -1*Gen 5 _ 2* Gen 4 but I really wanna build something that I can put in my backpack and take with me if I want.

Like the 5800x3d vs The r7 7700, the 7800x3d gaming performance is so good I wonder if zen 5 can beat it without 3D cache.

If amd is not adding more cores, they would lag behind intel so much. 8 cores is the minimum for new games and some like cyberpunk, staefield, etc. are starting to use more than 8 cores.

Just wish there's a 15w nxtgen apu performing like 5800x3d and the igpu be like rx6600
Slap that in handhelds with fsr3+afmf
Shud be decent gaming portable OTG
Or just target 13100f perf for steamdeck2 if they stick with 800p screen

I hope that zen 5 will bring big jump in performance amd cpus really did become better the fact that its beating 2 cpu gens or equal to one of them like intel 11th and 12th gen shows that amd really is taking effort to make zen 4 an amazing cpus the fact that it beats or matching the power hungry the i9 12900k shows how good amd cpus compared to the 2 last gen of intel like the intel 11th and intel 12th gen shows how much amd improved their cpus the fact that it beats 2 gens of intel while using a lot less power and have similar or greater performance than intel 12th gen shows that amd is really the winner and no om not amd fanboy im just thats impressive to have more powerful chip that match or sometimes beat the other more power hungry cpus

amd cpus seems to be really powerful for what they give I'm being intel user since my first gaming pc and even now but from what i saw in the current gen benchmarks the 7950x is one hell of a beast and also very good for gaming aside from the 7800x3d the 7950x is one hell of a beast in my opinion the perfect balance for having high performance at gaming while im sure it will also have very high performance in other stuff like production programming etc amd cpus seems to be very good they are not joke anymore i mean the ryzen 9 5900 and 5950x weren't bad too but the fact that 7950x draws a lot less power than 5950x while bringing very big boost in performance shows how the am5 platform have been improved since am4 im talking about zen 3 to zen 4 has been improving amd cpus im actually really impressed by this cpus being intel user since my first gaming pc i've seen that zen4 ryzen 7000 really is improving since the zen 3 ryzen 5000 since from what i heard using almost half the power for much more performance like 30% gaming thats very good and using much less power i heard half the power of zen 3 ryzen 9 5950x makes the ryzen 9 7950x one hell of a beast

Assuming next gen X3D chips will be 20% faster than the current ones. Intel needs to be 30% faster just to match the next gen X3D performance.

Based on current meteor lake leaks it looks highly unlikely that intel will be providing users upto 30% performance increase in gaming with arrow lake.

I want AI performance, gaming performance is already more than adequate. That's probably not coming till the next DDR generation though, as AI performance is so memory bottlenecked.

I think Zen 7 (Ryzen 10,000 or whatever they'll call it) will be the CPUs where AMD will move onto AM6 and DDR6 given how DDR6 is expected to launch in 2026.

Very exciting to see the advancements that AMD is making in its design. It will be a shame if Zen 6 isn't supported on socket AM5, however, they may be able to release the Zen 6 architecture in 2 phases, like a Zen 6 on AM5 and Zen 6+ with all the bells and whistles on AM6.. The reason for this is that the camp of customers who bought in to the long support promise of the AM5 socket can get their hands on the latest chips for gaming and for those that seek the ultimate 16c or 32c X3D variants of Zen 6 can upgrade their platform to AM6. That would be reasonable. It's all speculation of course.
