how much ease does a woven fabric need vs using a knit in using the same pattern. thanks
Ответить?what holds me back¿ is fear of starting. i like and Need to watch your video's as many times as i can so the knowledge of what you are saying imbeds in my brain. but it's that 1st cut that will send shivers down my spine. PS. i really do appreciate all the hard work and the visuals you put into every one of your videos. if I'm going to do this, it will be you that gets me there. Thank you. x
Ответитьfitting!
ОтветитьWhat holds me back? Falling in love with a gorgeous fabric. Solution: practise first on an old sheet. Or a forgotten scarf from the back of a cupboard.
ОтветитьI love your channel! You have taught me so much about sewing and I appreciate you teaching me how to draft patterns!
ОтветитьI know this video is 3 yrs. Old but, you asked what scares me the most about drafting a pattern. I am brand new to sewing and actually did draft a pattern for myself of overall/ jumper. It came out fine ( little bigger than I would like) but fine over all. Sleeves and finishing the neck line is what scares me, it took me 3 weeks to get the courage up to draft this top pattern lol , It's all cut out now just need to sew it up, I will let you know how I make out. Thank you for your videos from the bottom of this newbies heart ❤️ 😊
ОтветитьHi! - I am not sure how you made the slit neck line. Can you show that in a tutorial please?
ОтветитьI'm scared to draft my own patterns because I have no experience or training in fashion, so I feel like I don't have the skills and relying on a commercial pattern reassures me. Though I have all the basic sloppers, french curve rulers ... to draft my own patterns!
ОтветитьI am measuring my shoulders being more narrow than the half measurement of my breast or hip. I am older with more weight on me than I was when in my thirties unfortunately. So for my situation I would take the largest measurement and divide that in two for width of my top, is that right?
ОтветитьHi my daughter loves cold shoulder tops and dresses I would love to make her one could you please do a video on this
ОтветитьHow do I adjust this pattern for my stomach being 4 inches larger than my hips?
ОтветитьBeing a novice, seamstress holds me back from making my own patterns. However, I’m frustrated with ready-made patterns that includes six sizes within the pattern that I’m not doing that anymore.
ОтветитьThe neckline, bibs, and yolks always throw me. I have several things I have made and just never finished that part. I am actually trying to do my neckline with a slitn just like what you did and don't understand how.
ОтветитьVery😅 beautiful ❤
ОтветитьGod this is so confusing
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos very much . The thing that keeps me from drafting my own patterns is that one shoulder blade protrudes, and I need help figuring out the fit of all patterns. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!😊
ОтветитьSister I always have problems drafting the sleeves they always end up being smaller than the armhole so when stitching the sleeves comes outer than the armhole please help me out with this
ОтветитьThank you so much! I worry about my current proportions. I think I'll try an extra measurement with my hips so it's not snug.
ОтветитьVery good infomation to keep it in my notebook.
ОтветитьThank you 😊 I’m going to try this.
I was wondering if your able to do a shirt with thin straps ?
un regret traduit en francais ou sous titre j adore
Ответитьlove your channel! how to adopt patterns for plus size pattern would be helpful!
ОтветитьGetting the correct fit. Living by myself is really hard to correct something on me
ОтветитьMath lol 😢
ОтветитьHi I find i have problems with the neck and shoulders, i have short shoulders and i prefer to have a small neck line. i just can't do it right. i love your video's thank you
ОтветитьWould love to draft something of my own but have no idea where to start. One thing I would like is to draft pant/ shorts. I have a boxy shape with very thin legs. So store bought legs are always big, due to needed a larger waist size.
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьHi. I have only had about 2 weeks sewing training (and that was only learning the sewing machine) when I was in the 9th grade. I am now almost 63 years old. I guess I'm just so afraid of messing up a perfectly good piece of material. Cheap fabric doesn't matter. The point is it's usable fabric. That is why I've not tried to make my own patterns. I'm not sure what you could do that you haven't already. I'm just a chicken. 🐔 I love your videos. You are so good at showing all the points..like the measurements in this video. Thanks for all your helpful videos. God bless!
ОтветитьI actually did it and it fits!! Thank you so much ❤️
ОтветитьI'm so worried about wasting fabric
ОтветитьLove it! Can you make a video showing how to convert this into a dress pleaseeeee
ОтветитьDraughting is hard when you don’t have the perfect figure. Would be helpful to know what to do if your measurements aren’t the same as yours. Eg. Bigger hips or bust. Thank you.
ОтветитьI had this t-shirt that I bought at Old Navy and I can't find it to deconstruct it to resew it. so... I'm so thrilled that you posted this! the original top was too short anyways.
ОтветитьHello From holland. How much longer did je make the sleeve? 😘
ОтветитьI have been wanting to start making clothing for a while. The only thing I have figured out that it holding me back is that when I sew, often times it is for fun and to relax. When I start having to figure out measurements and math and "half of this and a quarter of that" I start wanting to not do it then I never start. I sew scrap quilts and I don't really measure stuff. But some of the things I sew for the quilts I think would be cute clothing so then I want to sew clothing. So, basically it is just all the measuring and figuring and drawing. Which is all the steps of drafting. My mom used to sew, but I never did actually learn to read a pattern either, which might be a good starting point, but the videos on that have been confusing to me also.
ОтветитьHi. Hope you are well? Question... how did you do the slit in the neck and the bies binding?
ОтветитьThank you for this great video, I will try it soon hopefully lol always enjoy your videos! Thank you so much for all the teaching you have given us! Hugs Liz 😊
Ответить1:25 pm 1/6/2023 Comment for drafting a pattern. I have very wide hips due to having 5 kids, so drafting a pattern correctly concerns me. I want my shirt to look good and not frumpy.
ОтветитьWhat about a little longer sleeve? Not 3/4, but a bit longer
ОтветитьCould I make this with rayon. Trying to get some ideas for my rayon material. Thank you very much!
ОтветитьMade a few shirts and love the simplicity of your pattern... easy to modify and still get great results. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьYou are amazing!!! I'm going to try this!! Thank you!!
ОтветитьI us your cardigan pattern and make one it came out great thank for your encouragement God blessings upon you...
ОтветитьMy name is Ira King and my fear is cuting different style
ОтветитьI am larger size and need more shaping for the bust, so drafting like this doesn’t seem like it would work…
ОтветитьThanks for being so inspiring! I think I can make this top.
ОтветитьIs this knit or woven fabric
ОтветитьHello love your channel so much u explain things so well when I am drafting it's a bit confusing but I will get there
