Masks in Premiere Pro CC

Hey! How’s your Tuesday going?

Iam facing a problem I wanna make a zoom transition into a mask that I have created I have keyframed the mask etc. But I want the mask to show up from a point and I thought to decrease the mask opacity so that the mask gradually show up but it decreases the opacity of the whole clip instead do you know why????

When Iam decreasing the mask opacity because I want the mask gradually showing up its decreasing the opacity of the whole video instead does anyone know why??

this might be me just being stupid but when i cut things out useing the circle tool it doesnt blacken things is there anything i can do ?

Hey! I recently started using Premier Pro and have found your videos very helpful! They are concise and informative and your presentation is excellent! It would be cool if at the end of each video, you include a clip of how you use these features for real videos. The masking thing is cool (I had never heard of it before) and I would like to see how this feature is used for an actual video (or maybe a few examples). As of right now, its so neat but i cant think of how i would use it (but thats probably because I'm new haha). Thank you so much for creating great content that helps people like me learn!

What am I missing here? I drag the masking effect onto the clip, I click on the mask in the effect control (either shape or pen tool) and... I get nothing! I don't get it...

Edit: fixed it. if anyone else has the same problem, then make sure that the start and end points are connected :)
