ОтветитьGreat voice bro God bless you
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьThanks for this! ❤️
Ответитьplease by all means more song breakdowns ! it's so helpful :)
ОтветитьWhat is a sus chord?
ОтветитьFor the Tritone substitution; is it safe to say that it can always be a dom7 going down a half step to another dom7?
So tritone sub:
c7 > b7
F7 > e7
G#7> g7
Etc…
That will always work and is always considered a tritone sub?
🔥🔥🔥
Ответитьbro was definitely baked
ОтветитьTritone sub/V/ii 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьBomb break down Jeff.
ОтветитьCan you speak faster? And add more letters and numbers?
ОтветитьThe 5th on the 7th sus is a 1/4 step, but pragmatically in non diatonic can be modulated.......just saying.
Ответитьa 13 sus 오른손 gM7(7번장조)
ОтветитьI'll restudy this later!
ОтветитьHahaha...thumbs up for the "singing". 😆 Good shit, man.
ОтветитьMan u sus
ОтветитьHow about just how to build a neo-soul song? What are the core progressions/substitutions, etc. vs a more traditional jazz approach to ii V I's?
ОтветитьNight video Jeff. That's the mic I use I've had it for years... And RnB is my favorite do obviously I subscribed! Keep it going
ОтветитьFunny... I also know the tritone as 3 tones away, HOWEVER, I always thought it was based off of the 3 tones of a DIMINISHED TRIAD (not the 3 "whole tones" as Jeff counted). Meaning, the root, minor 3rd and another minor 3rd above that... THREE TONES all stacked in minor 3rds (in the key of C for example: C, Eb, Gb). If you think about it, it even makes more harmonic sense to think of it this way, because that same diminished chord (C dim) can be played as the passing diminished to a G chord, being that it shares the same tritone interval as a D7 going to the G. Of course, we both arrive at the same place, but I prefer my math (theory) in this case.
ОтветитьWhat do you mean the song is in a sharp D major and how it's tuned different?
ОтветитьHey I love your videos, I just started getting into piano again and you've really helped reinspire my playing.
One thing I think would help a lot in the interest of learning is if you included a PDF or screen with all of the chords on it at the end. I find myself skipping through your video to try to practice them all which isn't very efficient. This is not a criticism, you're a great teacher and obviously very knowledgeable.
Tuned D upward between D and E? Thats the key of d`angelo haha
ОтветитьDumb question but is D'Angelo feeling this out himself? Is it at all possible to get from 0 or gospel or blues to this level without education in school. I love him either way. Definitely Jesus level anyway.
ОтветитьYour channel is exactly what I needed to get back to my music
ОтветитьYou sing nicely
ОтветитьThanks ! What vst are you using for those rhodes ?
ОтветитьThis isn't really R&B theory. First of all D'Angelo may have recorded this song, but it was written by Roberta Flack. The most significant point here is that the II, V, I construction is typically a jazz progression, in fact one might say it is THE Jazz progression. as for that C7 for E minor substitution , substituting a C for an E minor and vice versa is very common. E min, E,G,B,D and C7, C,E,G,Bb. The only difference being the D and B flat.
ОтветитьSounds so dope!
ОтветитьI am 20 years out of veing a music school dropout and still able to call the vocabulary as and when you use them. That makes me happy.
Solid explanation. Good job overall. Next time, you gotta play with a little more "stank face." Lol.
you sing 10 times better i could sing lol
ОтветитьDidn’t know Charlie puth had a nerdier brother who is even better at piano.
ОтветитьProps to j dilla
