Hindi is not mother tongue of anyone state of India.central government promoted Hindi as a national language in North India painstakingly biased motivated leaving other recognised 21languages this is the problem of IAS officers Hindi belt north Indian they are not proficient on either their states mother tongue or English but proficient in Hindi thinking that it is the national language which is 500 years old developed during Mughal period.Yet another language which is Sanskrit not mother tongue of anyone state of India including Brahmins.

Article 348(1)(a) of the Constitution of India states that all proceedings in the Supreme Court and in every High Court, shall be in English language.

How can he complete the interview?

Dont know the sides ,charges, accused,victim but there could only be one reason of not able to communicate in 'ENGLISH'.The IAS might have 'PROMOTED' from lower position otherwise the clearence of his exam can questionable.

Mi-Lords should explain under what basis dispensation of justice is anywhere related to English Language? Mi-Lords have a translator...and I am not sure if IAS officers are required to a Shakespearean Englishmen...

Hindi is our National Language, IAS definitely need multiple language and English is a must. he has to be good in English too

This would not have happened in Hindi heart-land. In Assam, Guwahati, they are more inclined towards Assamese and Pahari languages.

The reason our judges of high court demand english because a tamilian judge can be sit in assam high court, so the common language used is english.. we have so many cases pending now you cant expect judges to learn regional language and then go for judgement, this a pure case of sc/St quota selection 😂😂

Some IAS give exam in hindi , sometimes it is not possible speak in english. They should be given chance to speak in regional language.
