Can you tell me what with the Uninstall update I don't understand that one

Any ideas if this doesn't work?

It did not work. After I pressed uninstall updates a window popped up asking me to confirm to uninstall so, I pressed OK and it started to uninstall but was taking too long and I was constantly having the message come up every 2 seconds, so I could not finish the last step to reset app preferences, So, I turned off my phone and now I can't clear the cache on any of my apps.
