@James Jani, Many people keep parroting the term "store of value" - but - sincerely - what does it mean by "store of value"? What is the real utility of gold? There are only 4 so far:
1. vanity - jewelry - which makes of of the production
2. electronic coating - which on;u requires traces, apart from commonly less understood
3. food - also in traces - and i am unsure why it is being used in cuisine as it does not improve the flavor
4. medicine - also in traces - and discovered just a few years ago, to contain some forms (not all) of cancer

Actually, most countries (especially in Europe) never completely gave up the gold standard, the policies just changed.

The US dropped the gold standard in 1971, in order to prepare for adopting the petrodollar in 1973. And it was sort of imposed on the world as well.

End goal for bitcoin was to hit $1mil a coin, making bitcoin collectively worth $21 trillion (us debt at time of creation of bitcoin) my guess for when the music stops is when it DOES hit 1mil a coin, it will crash.
