Just finished the documentary. I don’t think he was Ivan the Terrible, but he definitely was involved with the Nazis in some way. Most likely a death camp guard. So either way, he’s a scumbag.

What intrigued me is that Dmjanjuk said he was a Catholic, yet he blessed himself in the Orthodox way.

Letting the whole procedure against this man go on for 20-30 years, destroying his and his families lives and ending as being innocent. This series shouldn't have been aired, giving his family new pressure, sorrow etc., just because the media can make a nice story. This man died years ago and his family needs to go through the whole thing since such a long time, it's a never ending story for them!

Well, obviously like many others docs, I loved this one. I think Netflix is leading when it comes to Documentaries. Now, this one made me think about so many things around the world like, who are the one's that decide who's the "enemy" ? It's not the crime itself, it will depend on who is the victim. Like "War Criminals" , really? Everyone in a war is a Criminal . Don't get me wrong , my heart really goes to the victim's of the Holocaust, I have no prejudice whatsoever but, imagine if the blacks were looking for revenge? Not for slave owners but the ones that tortured and murder black people not just in the US but also in Africa? A big portion of them are still alive so, why they're not considered criminals ? Apartheid just ended in the 90's , who did time in jail for the previous atrocities in that country? Do you know what I mean? I was really impressed by the amount of people that went out of that way to prosecute the Ucranian for something that happened 40 years before . The double standard is shocking . I gave the example of black people but there's much more similar situations that society chooses not to care and that's sad. People should have more critical thinking.

In one part of the documentary defense claims the ID card was a fake. That the KGB fabricated the ID card for their own purposes. Then later on in the same documentary the KGB produces a document that claims Ivan the Terrible was either somewhere else or was killed by a prison revolt.

So which is it? Either the defense believes the KGB or they don't. They believe the KGB when it benefits their defense and call the KGB liars if it doesn't.

You know what? In the laws of the LORD GOD which are perfect, if a witness lie, they get the same punishment that the accuser was facing.
