Imagine the doubt of those that never seen, that was they face. That's us. 🙏❤️❤️🙏

A Roman centurion and a Savior. Even though it is only a few short minutes, Clavius understands that this man before him is so much more. Jesus looked deep into his heart, knows who he is and what he can be. His knowing smile when He says holding his shoulder, “a day without death” and looking with love and compassion for Clavius. That is the moment this war torn, broken and beaten soldier was made whole again. That is where he believed in a man that was his Savior and friend.

The most important event in human history and all we have is a few paragraphs in an ancient book. We are supposed to hand over our time and money to people that claim to represent this god. What about all the 1000's of other gods humans worshiped? It seems to me they have just as much proof as these claims - None...

i live this movie. it was such a revelation the first time i saw it. JESUS is represented how i believe HIM, friendly, smiling, simple and so deep.

'A day without death' - I think that is the moment that Clavius realizes that Jesus is all-knowing

When the tribune told Pilot he wanted a day without death, Jesus heard him, like he hears us all.

I feel this is exactly what Jesus would be like kind, funny, and just wanting to be with people. If I was face to face with him I would thank him for his sacrifice and for giving his life for us🙏

The thing here is He knows not only the question you are going to ask, but he has the answer to that same question. That's why when you are asked any question at the Gates of Heaven, be advised, your answer is known by Him before you answer. He knows...He knows what is in your heart, and He knows why your actions were what they were. This is your last chance to come clean...your last chance....

Can somebody please answer me why Jesus speaks of the the Father being higher than him? I believe in the Trinity but this question haunts me.

The moment of conversion

Lets be honest, the vast majority of christian media is absolute garbadge, and this is coming from a christian, but this film is Shockingly good!

We never stop to think what it was like for the guards who where there when something litteraly IMPOSSIBLE happaned

This scene always touches my heart. There he was a Roman soldier who has had a hard past sitting next to the One true God and having just a simple conversation. Nothing complicated. A direct and simple conversation with Jesus. 🙏

I wouldn't know what to ask either if I were in his shoes. I don't know what I'd ask if he showed up to my house this minute.

A confession to Jesus!

A few points I want to add on this scene: First, Clavius is obviously so captivated by Jesus Himself after having traveled with Him and His disciples that his own curiosity is awaken. He's never met any being like this one here. Humans have a proclivity to yearn for truth, goodness, and beauty. And I think Clavius sees these things in Jesus such as the Roman religion could never possess.

Second, when Clavius speaks about the day he helped in Jesus' crucifixion, I think this is a prefigurement to the Sacrament of Confession. Clavius is opening himself up completely and allowing himself to be vulnerable with Jesus just as a confessor speaks to a priest in Catholicism. After confessing to what Clavius did, Jesus simply says these words: "I know." Christ recognizes that Clavius did a horrible thing in aiding His Passion and Death but you can tell from the look on Jesus' face that He still forgives Clavius unconditionally. It's one of the greatest things you come to love about the Son of God: His unfailing ability to forgive all those who have wronged Him and still do to this day.

Third, just the way that Jesus places his Hand on Clavius' shoulder and reaches into his heart, He sees that the latter desires certainty, peace, and a day without death. Right then and there, Clavius at long last sees the Living God Made Flesh. Whatever faith and loyalty he placed in the Romans' religion is replaced with the Living Truth. The last shot of this scene as Clavius looks up to the sky, you can see that he's looking up to Heaven where God the Father resides. Clavius in that moment becomes like a child loved by the Father.

*Certainty - Witnessed his death

*Peace - No longer under the rule of his superiors in Rome

*A day without death - achieved by Jesus's resurrection

At that moment Clavius must have felt Jesus knowing him deeply

Every single one of us wants this moment but yet has no idea what to say or ask... Thinking it is one thing but being in his presence as he looks at you and asks you a simple question like "whats on your heart" and then you honestly have no idea where to start.... But yet you're speechless......

I am a very proud Norse pagan lord Odin and lord Thor are my god's but I do respect Jesus to he's just not my god
