Can you use the eGPU without an external monitor?

Nothing beat my Ally XG mobile 4090 combination.

With this config, can you use an eGPU with the internal display? like connecting the GPD G1 and have it render on the screen or is that not possible with this config?

ETA, PLEASE make a video showing how eGPU runs in Internal screen! I want to buy one, but only for internal screen, for monitor i have my PC

I'm still not convinced with the egpus, I would rather pay for the gforce now and be able to play some triple a games in high rez

Cant wait to get my hands on a unit i have some things i whanna try and im hoping that can help others when i do, there is alot of potential in this device i really hope there will be a higher ram version in the future but for now its a splid machine. However i must say there are alot of settings in windows that needs to be tweaked to get the full performance out if the device.. im pritty sure there is some issues with for instance windows game bar that will drain performance, especially the screenshot and game capture hic ups that setting has.

So what about using a rtx3080ti in a razor egpu case Will it be a better result then a 3060, or the 3060 in the dgp g1, since that 3060 is a laptop gpu?

Test this egpu with warzone 2 I want to see if it goes above 60fps or 70fps. warzone 2 is the only game where an egpu is useless

This video inspired me to buy a razer core x, and use my rtx3060 from my gaming pc with the Legion Go as a desktop gaming alternative. This has been problematic since day one, not sure if it's a Legion Go or Razer issue or just a pbkac issue but the Legion Go randomly restarts. I am not alone in the community on this, and the discussion seems to point to Windows but I'm not convinced. Anyone else in this particular boat?

I have the very quite same setup with the razer core, 3090 rtx, brand new legion go, but im having a hard time to connect them. When i plugin it doesn’t automatically recognize the core, so i installed the driver prior to turn on, but still not finding the setup. How did you make it work? Thanks!

Hey man help! I own a legion go and G1 but after I updated driver with AMD auto detect but I have an issue that bother me. When I use eGPU all performe great but when I have to plug it off I firstly turn off Legion Go and only the I plug it off. When I restart I got error 31 on iGPU, only by using Driver Booster after I failed repair error I can adjust all. Do you have the same issue? How did you solve? Many thanks!

i think eGPU is kind of pointless. If you got that kind of money just use your PC. I can see if the eGPU was mobile but it's not. So therefore it's pointless

How did you get your g1 and legion to work? I just got mine today and it will not pick up the legion.

@ETAPRIME hoping you can help me troubleshoot an issue in have. I bought an alienware - aw3423dwf 34" quantum dot oled curved ultrawide gaming monitor - 165hz - amd freesync premium pro - vesa - hdmi,usb but when connecting it I can only see the picture when in pip mode. Otherwise the screen is sideways. I've tried all the settings but have been unable to figure out how to get it to play full screen. Maybe I need a docking port?

Before I use an external GPU I use a gaming laptop. Just my 2 cents.

What the handheld is good for though, is playing while lying flat in bed.
Doing that with a laptop is only possible if you bought a small screen, but I like the handheld route better as you also get…well a handheld. 😂

Let's be honest here , if we have budget to buy an 4090 eGPU and also wants to play on external display, why would we even bother to buy handheld ?

I’m loving using my legion go on my tv with the egpu. A few tips, controller has to be in fps mode to use a different controller. Controller companion is a life saver if you are using this on a television.

Would this work with the original Core X non chroma? Its thunderbolt 3 only.

I think it's better to use a rtx 4090 without the legion go ;-D just put it in a pc. No need for the legion go in a high end pc setup.
