Hello, I am Walid from Libya, one of your fans, and your video clip. I have quails, a wild breed, like the ones you have, for egg production. I have a question after your comment and my question. I have mothers in good condition, but the droppings are not cohesive. The people do not have symptoms of any diseases. Is this normal? If you would be kind enough to explain to me. Quail diseases and sugar for you
ОтветитьBut you can just skin it and all the feathers come with it... it takes about 1 minute to dress a quail with a pair of utility shears.
ОтветитьTry it with your hands especially since you dipped in hot water. Feathers literally wipe right off. Much faster with out plucker
ОтветитьI can eat a quail if i don't know how it die and die just like naturaly i don't know and like to know if i can eat it
ОтветитьI don’t think so, Feathers everywhere,
ОтветитьWhat kind of drill do you have that you can turn on like that?
ОтветитьHi Terry...are you still using this for pluck your birds? If not please link me to what your using now so I can look at it....Thanks!
ОтветитьWhat size drill is needed for attachment
ОтветитьWhen I think of all the time I spent plucking chickens when I was a kid...
Ответитьsome just pull the skin off with the feathers
nicely done
I just used my plucker like yours for the first time. I'll have a shower now to get the feathers out of my hair
ОтветитьI am new to quail but when you butcher them how much do you sell them for?
ОтветитьI have a much cheaper version for plucking chickens. It works well enough for me. I hold the bird by the legs in an empty garbage can and it catches most of the feathers my cordless drill plucks off. I usually need to pick the wings and tail by hand and clean up the straggling feathers. Still a whole heck of a lot faster than doing it all by hand!
I need to get one of these.
I have been vegan and a meat lover, i often wondered how killing my own meat would change my relationship with food purely because its a job that we are not burdened with ourselves. I think its probably a valuable experience in terms of self discovery. Any thoughts of the subject??
ОтветитьSo a spork…
ОтветитьOne controversial but fast method is called the Ozzy Osbourne. Works.
ОтветитьHow taste?
ОтветитьWow what a sound effect.
Ответить🇺🇸👍👍👍OK
ОтветитьSave the wing (primary or "flight" ) feathers and make a velcro backed taped shroud to attach to the sides of a brooder plate heater. "Comfort curtain" helps keep the heat under the plate, gives the heat plate the look of a huge mega-jumbo momma quail, and the comfort plate company sells these for up to $20... you could feed a lot of Quail if you had the $20. Waste naught, want not, or so they say. My $0.02. ~Tully River Quail
ОтветитьIf you turn your hot plate off, your drill won't behave badly
ОтветитьThank you for the video! Is there anything you need to do prior to butchering? Aka stop feeding them for a day? Or just get right to it?
ОтветитьLooks like the feathers are going everywhere but the bucket 🤣
ОтветитьYou make it look so easy!
ОтветитьThanks for the video, I subbed on your last one. I was wondering how the plucker has held up since it’s been about a year? Do you still recommend it? Thanks
ОтветитьThe spoon tip is really useful.
I wonder if that slot down middle of the spoon makes much difference
I see the plucker has a shaft that has a flat ground side. Hand drill-drill bit extensions could work for that set up (creating a permanent table set up) by getting the drill/motor away from the carcass and by supplementing a small electric motor of a known rpm so you could mechanically control the speed of the plucker through belt pulley or gearbox reduction to gain the correct constant speed for the plucker. That would also allow you to build a simple plastic shield over the plucker to guide feather discharge. Thanks for the information. Very good!
Ответитьcan you rig a 5 gallon pail as a shroud?
ОтветитьThat plucker works great. Feathers are high in nitrogen and compost very well. The entrails make great catfish bait. They would also make great feed for a black soldier fly colony. That would be a great way to supplement your feed for your quail. BSF larvae are 35% protein and 35% fat, which make super good feed.
ОтветитьI hsve a chicken plucker. Could I put a few quail in it at a time.
ОтветитьI really like the end result of the plucking. Great video
ОтветитьI need that plucker.
And give us the name of the drill, so we never buy it.
nice gadget👍👍
Ответить👍
ОтветитьGives a whole new meaning to “spoon ya”
ОтветитьWhat drill do you use?
ОтветитьTerry, when I've processed chickens (I've done around 400 in total) I've always put Dawn dish soap in the scalding water to help cut the oils that hold the feathers in. It seems to make plucking a bit easier. Do you think it would work good on quail too?
ОтветитьGot me a pucker like that workes great.
ОтветитьWhat drill are you using?
ОтветитьWow- does this plucker work on bantam chickens as well as it does on quail?
ОтветитьSounded like that drill was about to change gears and get up and go. Hahaha. Great video.
ОтветитьI'd cut a plastic milk jug and open the side to catch splatter. Just put it on the bottom of the plucker. Ma 2
ОтветитьWork good
Thank you so mush , I still scar take this step and I’m new in this business
Great job 👍 man!
ОтветитьHow many quail can you keep in your cages?
ОтветитьCould we see a comparison with a genuine try at plucking without scalding, please? Would that tool help with that, or in skinning the only option? My dietary restrictions are such that scalding is not an option.
ОтветитьWhy not throw 20 quail in a 5 gallon home depot bucket and go at it with the plucker drill.... seems like that would work better and be faster for more birds
ОтветитьNew friend and sub here. Interesting. Have never plucked quail. Have always skinned them and boned them during processing but that was always for personal consumption. Will have to consider this (like the plucker) and watch some more videos for sure. Thanks!
ОтветитьEntrails can be boiled and fed to cats n dogs. Feet and wings trimmed can be put into stock. Unwashed excess eggs can be preserved for about a year in water with slake lime. Hard boiled can be pickled and canned. Quail meat can even be pressure canned. Quail could sustain you in hard times or easy.
Ответитьanything for quail food funding? high five
