Self esteem is based on our own thoughts.
Say 10 things you are proud of yourself.
1. Spend time with people who makes you feel good.
2. Turn up volume of positive thoughts.
3. When you recieve a compliment say thank you.
4. Meet yourself.

I resonated with the idea that self-esteem stems from within. I am focusing on trusting and respecting myself, believing that this inner acknowledgment will contribute to my overall growth.

I hate this whole making lists thing. I was once too given the advice by a professional to write down 3 things I like about myself. Of course I couldn‘t come up with a single thing and it threw me into a yearslong depression. Today after some work I can maybe name some one on a good day, but ten!??

Researching your roots and staying rooted in your culture helps! When I learned about the Celtic culture and what they stood for, that helped me jump in to my warrior mindset!

Dear Niko, I figured I would start with boosting your self-esteem more. You are inspiring, you trust others since you have the courage to talk to groups. I want to be able to be on stage in someway hopefully acting and to be bold in these actions. Keep making your mark on the world you made a beautiful mark on mine.

Generally speaking, the idea is that if a person is famous and/or liked by many, that this will give a person more self-esteem, and then as a result of this, that person will feel happier and more fulfilled. Human beings for the most part are social beings, they want to be around others, and they want to be liked by others. They will do many things to be accepted and be more popular. We feel that if we have more followers or likes on Social Media, that this could increase our sense of self-esteem.

Many people want to feel that they are important, that they are needed. Especially men want to be providers of the family. And sometimes people want to connect with famous or important people. I know this person! As if that makes someone more valuable. We already have inbuilt worth, so we don’t need to struggle anymore. We just need to act in harmony with who we really are.

Of course, as long as we think we are these temporary bodies and the labels connected to the body, then this is not truly who we are. And any self-esteem that we might experience from bodily accomplishments will be temporary. Obviously, we have many temporary roles with duties and responsibilities in this world. It is not wrong to take them important and try to do the best we can. But if we think that this passing world is everything we need on this human journey and beyond, then we will miss out on the eternal and spiritual, what we really need the most.

Everyone has experienced not feeling worth very much. In this world people are struggling always to feel that we have some worth, some value. We gauge how much worth we have by materialistic society's standard of success. People want their children to succeed because they themselves hook up with that success or lack of success. Their own idea of success is hooked up with your value. But there is so much more than temporary material ups and downs.

I don’t have paper around, but I’m trying to improve, so here
1. I love to learn and collect information
2. I was able to listen without protest last week when my friends told me how I’d hurt them; I don’t think I could have done that in high school or even in college
3. I’ve stuck with a 4-days-a-week workout schedule for 6 weeks straight this year, more than ever before
4. I try to be kind to everyone
5. Sometimes it goes too far, but I feel my emotions very deeply
6. I’ve never lost my childhood love of reading, even though I have less time to indulge in it
7. I’m always willing to hug a friend who’s struggling, even if I don’t always have the capacity to listen or advise
8. I deeply love my whole immediate family
9. I don’t consider myself brave, but I did have the courage to leave home to work my dream job
10. However long it takes, I’m determined to be fluent in at least three languages other than English before I die

Hard. I never feel seen. I feel people just use me to step over for someone/ something else. Yeah i a mom. I just still don’t feel worthy of this life!

This is great advice if you’re a woman. But as a guy who was raised right, I felt a lot like Hank Hill when he went to therapy and was being told the pet and imaginary cat. I just wanted to vomit inside my head as she was talking about, turning the volume up for positive thoughts and hitting the delete button for negative thoughts. This really strikes me as some fake self-help. Give me all your money and maybe you’ll feel better energy.

5 things I love about myself:

1. I'm sensitive to other people's feelings and try to always be there for people in my life who are struggling.
2. I'm fun, I am a child at heart and I bring out the inner child in the people around me by suggesting fun activities.
3. I'm a cat lover, and I love my cats with my entire soul. They are my children and I would do anything for them.
4. I always try to be kind, even at times when I probably shouldn't be.
5. I'm very unique and express myself to those I feel comfortable being myself around.

10 things? Dude, i can't even write down 1 thing...
Like 30 minutes ago i came across a self-esteem program: i had to write down:
5 positive things about myself
4 ways to improve my mood
3 achievings i am proud of the most
2 hardships i have overcome
1 thing i need at the moment (non-physical)
I know it was supposed to help me and make me feel better but it did quite the opposite. I started it by writing down 4 things that improved my mood, then after a fair amount of overthinking i wrote down the 3 achievings i was proud of, i knew what i needed at the moment the most, but then i got stuck, and here i am now. I can't think of 1 single thing that i find positive or attractive about myself, that i like about myself... also, i can't name a single hardship that i think i have actually overcome. Omg i'm so fucking screwed up and miserable...
I'm trying to figure out some things that people have complimented me about, i remember 2 of them, and that's it:

1) yesterday my boss said that my sense of humour is spectacular
2) people say i'm quite smart and logical

Now when i started writing these down, i remembered a couple of other things too:

3) they say i have good musical taste
4) good taste in movies, though this could be under the same number as mysic but anyway
5) i am not a jealous person and basically i'm never jealous of anyone (this one and the rest i came up with myself)
6) i am really caring, i always care about the people i love
7) i'm kind to children and animals (i'd be glad to say to everyone, but it wouldn't be true)
8) actually i'm hardworking, well at least i'm sure i'm doing my best
9) i'm well-educated and well-aware of different fields
10) i think i'm a good friend and good daughter

Apparently the program helped, because it made me come up with positive thoughts about myself even though i cried like 30 minutes before that.
Thank you if you read it to this point, and even if you didn't. I just needed to share my thoughts somewhere cuz i was feeling really down.
If you have some tips for improving your self esteem, i'll be glad to read:))

Ok here we go. From a place of zero self-esteem.
1. I am proud of my understanding and appreciation of language and complex concepts.
2. I am proud of my ability to write an essay or just a clear and concise comment.
3. I am proud of my ability to think a step further, or to see a problem/concept from many angles.
4. I am proud of my ability to empathise with someone’s struggle even if it is far from my own.
5. I admire my ability to be alone and my ability to stimulate my mind with my own ideas.
6. I’m proud of my ability to teach and to see peoples strengths and points of improvement.
7. I admire my ability to learn a technique/move and have my body move through it.
8. I admire that no matter how bad it gets I’ve always seen hope (at least in my past).
9. I am proud of the fact that I can (usually) admit when I am wrong.
10. I am proud of the fact that I am sometimes supportive and kind even when no one else is.

Wow. First 5 minutes I literally couldn’t think of a single thing I was proud of. I almost concluded that there wasn’t anything to be proud of about myself. I’m glad I stuck to it.

My name is Nico so this hits extra hard. I almost joined a gang to feel more important. So. I also did some horrible things to change my pain and although I only hurt myself directly, it took a long time to realize that we’re only mad at ourselves.

I’m crying rn. I can’t see counseling because this stupid town isn’t allowing new patients. I have mental health problems and mental health isn’t taken serious here. So instead of seeing therapy I’m watching this video as I’m feeling bad about myself and I’m tired of feeling this way 😭
