I need to know how to do this on a rope with a center strand and 6 strands around it.

They are durable and feel like just battle ropes I have used at the gym. Excellent addition to a home gym.

I see so many people doing it upside down. On the fishing vessel I worked on in Alaska they taught us to flip it around and hook the loop over something so you can pull it tight tight. Trying to pull away from you tighten a splice is never as effective as toward you and tightness is importanto. Thanks for the vid

I suspect if you do some research you will learn that you do not "tie" an eye splice. You "splice" an eye.

Get yourself one of these splicing doodadds, I have mine attached to a loop hanging off my wrist, it's great.
