Best iPads for Art in 2023 (+ Procreate Dreams Compatibility)

As far as layers go could you create something with a number of layers , save that image , flatten the image to one layer then add more layers and save it as another image .
Be gentle , I know nothing about pro create but thinking of giving it a try .

I just tried that 16 x 16 on my old iPad Pro 2018 and it gave me 77 layers - can’t wait to get the new one and see if it’s the same amount. Thanks for all the great info!

Does anyone know why an iPad pro 3rd gen 12.9 in iPad gets less layers than a 11in? Does it just have idk less ram avaliable to developers for some reason? The 11 at 1tb gets 77 layers but the 12.9 only gets 25??? I was interested in the larger screen but it doesn't seem worth if it's more expensive and doesn't even get as many layers...

I have been using simple mouse to draw digital arts for years. Opacity slider and brush size slider in enough to work. Obviously pressure sensitivity helps, but that doesn't mean that without it its worthless for artists. On budget with 10th gen ipad , usb type c apple pencil is good enough. All you need is habits of using sliders.

Bear in mind that Procreate isn't the be all end all. Adobe Fresco is extremely powerful and includes vectors

Thanks brooke, i wanted to get a ipad in the future so thanks for the tips. Air 5 would be recommended for most artist in apple but idk when procreate will release it app on android or it just wont happen i guess.
