These are very helpful. Starting from scratch. It is apparent to me that a stand alone is step one.

I think there's something I missed here: if I want to have effects on a final mix, can I add the effect to the final recording during mixing?

Hello Gaz, is there a way of increasing the volume of a track that has already been recorded ? Thanks, Dan.

I am going to return the unit. I had BIG expectations but it left me down. The final straw was that I finally fully realised that THERE IS NO WAY TO USE ANY EFFECTS ON THE MASTER channel...mostly because there is no Master Channel. What a shame, I had pushed myself to accept all other shortcomings, but not being able to at least LIMIT my final mix is too much for me. Please tell me if I am overseeing anything. This thing has evolved from a real mini recording board (old generation) to just another Guitar pedal rack. That's what it really is. Nothing more than that

Why when I turn on the compressor, limiter, noise reduction on on each track there is no change on the sound? Its like its no differences with it on or off? Is there something I'm not doing right? It only works when pre-recording but not after track been recorded or on play back.

Hi Gaz, I decided to try the factory reset and I am now able to access the "Matchless" effect option and proceed. Hooray !

At ease men.....Thanks again, Dan.

Can anybody compare this to the L12 or L20 from zoom? More so about the reliability, crashing, glitchiness, etc...

Hello Gaz, when I am in the "guitar effects" mode, whenever I try to choose the "Matchless" option, a gray pop-up box says " Process overflow. Change the effects to one that uses less processing power. Use Guitar Lab to check the processing power".
I am able to utilize the other guitar effects options without issue but I am unable to proceed with the Matchless option (which, of course, is the one I would like to sample for a clean sound - a Fender Deluxe with a bit of crunch sound).
Will I need to perhaps reset the Zoom to to its Default setting ?
Thanks, as always, Dan.

Do the send effects have to be the same across all tracks? Can I use a reverb on one track and a delay on another?

This is another great, practical explanation for things that would seem really complicated if they were only in writing or diagrams. I easily understood everything you covered here, and now I know the difference between send and inset, and that a patch is a set of effects. One of the best 13 min 20 sec I've ever spent in learning about audio...well, there was that time I flipped the tape in my old Tascam 414 and heard my music backwards, but that was a different kind of learning altogether.

Hello, your videos are incredibly helpul! Do send effects also work in interface mode? to have live monitoring from the zoom but record dry into the daw? that would be incredibly helpful for low latency recording.
Cheers and thank you for your work

I've played with my R20 for a week now. Without your tutorials, I would've sent it back. I have many questions, but the most pressing question is if you've found a way to nudge tracks, like a non-quantized grid way to nudge a bass track off the top of the beat. Years of rock bass made me play right on the front edge of The Bubble... I'd like to lay my bass back a few milliseconds w/out it landing a 32nd note away.
Thanks again for the lessons.
