Keep in mind temperature is much much hotter in a good part of the USA comapred to UK at least in summer so people drink a lot more in general during the day as they lose much more water content form sweat and heat.

In the UK we have 5 guys when I first ordered the mediums chips thought he gave me the wrong order had to go up and double check, small is literally a large, medium is an x-large and a large is an xx-large

America had such big portions for a few reasons. We used to be very hard working. Building towns and cities and a lot of farming. We are a food rich country so we could eat hardy to give us the strength we needed. Farmers get very hungry working. Food was cheap and people starred to prosper so you could eat more. Now a days people don't work hard like that or exercise but it's in our culture now to eat bigger and our food is cheap because now we cut corners and it's made very unhealthy so it's cheaper but makes us sick. We are essentially brainwashed, tricked and encouraged to eat like that and drowning in McDonald's ads. The bad food is cheaper than the healthy food as well here in my home the USA...

What fast food places even offer "small" cup sizes anymore?! Medium / regular seem to be the de facto smallest size these days.

People can blame the food all they want but the extra calories wouldn’t matter if people worked out and were more active. The US could be a country of ripped people if we combined the caloric surplus with activity and working out lol

I’m American and if I eat out, I order the kids size or smallest size.

American pizzas are smaller then Italian pizzas while there actual portion sizes are bigger.

And when you consider pricing, you can see how much of a scam it is for UK
