How to Get a Free Google Voice Phone Number

I link a u.s number into my Google voice account, but i still don't have any private phone number on my account and i don't know why!

What if I don't want to link a number?

Tony, I have a need to get a number that I can use for the US from anywhere in the world. Sounds like this might be a great option. Just checking. My current US cell is now parked at NumberBarn (as I will be in Australia and Europe mainly) but want to maintain my US presence as such. I can receive text to this US Cell (to verify the Google Number setup), but the NumberBarn service does not include voice calling. So question I have: Will I still be able to use Google Number for voice calling where the linked number is not voice activated as such? Hope this makes sense. Thank you so much for this. However I am still confused, So I already have my US number linked to google voice and are able to have a google voice number. However, it does not show on my settings. It is fortunate that I was able to take a screenshot of it. My question is, if I have to give the google number to someone, would their call be directed to my google voice account?

Can you link this number to a land line? And is it automatically linked to the phone you signed up with?

BS It's Not Free phone number. You Have to Have a hava faking EXSISTING phone number Evil Google Ride on it.. Just like it highjack your Existing email. Like check all your email on one google mail.. basically, you give all your other email's passwords to Evil Google. If you already have aEzsisting phone number Why do you need Google phone number? for basic phone purposes.

I've put in soooo many cities and zip codes and it says there is nothing in the area. There are no suggested numbers either. Have you seen this?
