Do you still use a quick detailer as a drying aid even when planning to decontaminate, polish, and protect the paint? I believe you said in another video to avoid using protectant products before polishing but I just wanted to clarify!

A huge waste of money and time in my personal experience! FACTS: A very clean and shiny car all it does is draws a lot of attention, specially to car thieves. I had a 2008 Honda CR V for 15 yrs, and rarely washed it; rainy days was my free personal auto wash!! yes, on rare occasions I had to have it auto car washed. I was recently involved in a no-fault car accident, and my insurance offered me $8,700 for the value of the 15 yr old car!!! The car kept its bright finish, and the paint never peeled, considering it rarely got car washed or sealed with chemicals to protect its finish! the so call swirls, superficial scratches, and water stains are unavoidable to the everyday natural elements, specially for those of us who live in the suburbs and the city! whenever I noticed very obvious water stains or dirt on it; I gave it a quick but gentle water shower, let it dry in the sun, then once dried I give it a very gentle buff in the more obvious places, and walla!!!

In my experience a regular car wash and the chemicals used to clean it, in time does more harm then good to the finish and paint of the car; and considering that I rarely had my car washed and not apply the use of chemicals to protect it from the elements; I am living proof that such labor intensive car washing and use of chemicals care is not necessary and a huge waste of your time and money!

So what was my secret!? I rarely washed it, much less applied or sealed it with chemicals. When it needed cleaning I took it to a local self serve car wash joint; gave it a gentle shower with plain water, use a gentle liquid soap; gently buff it with a microfiber cloth; all on a very sunny day!!

Always great vids. You know these are timeless if after 2 years they are still relevant. Do you have an updated one for 2023/24? If you use a leaf blower then you don’t need to use a drying aid? Drying aids are to add lubricants before doing a physical dry?

Good stuff Pan-Man. I have found Meguiers wheel cleaner diluted is good for my Taco’s wheels; also use same type bucket with a dirt guard and mitt. For best shine on tires I have found that spraying on just about any silicone dressing in the sun gives the best shine-no wiping required. Will check back for more!!

Hi Pan. Thanks for making great videos as always. Just bought a brand-new car so I have been watching a ton of your videos. Question - If I am using a leaf blower to dry the car do I still need a drying aid? I think no since I'm not touching the car but I want to be certain. Also, Iron remover - Is the iron remover you spray all over the car the same one that you spray inside your wheels/rim? Thanks!

I have a new black car i use a safe wash method. But after 3 months there are still very light scratches on the car. I think its because i use wrong drying method.

I use twisted loop towel for drying. Any tips for drying it? Or is it inevitable for light scratches on black paint? Im not going to use a leaf blower tho

Maybe i dry my microfiber towel wrong? Any tips on how to glide the towel on the car? Thanks pan

Why did I have a white spots after cleaning my black car after using my snow foam is it because of I wash it when do fish is hot I wish it in the morning but in Asia it's quite hot. I changed my mesh filter and still I got those white spots but which hardens on the body of the pain and it was very small so it's very hard to clean. How can I fix this what is the problem is it because of the show to water rescue did I use to little water)

Pan,
I enjoy your videos on car detailing and cleaning. You have mentioned before about troublesome water spotting when rinsing the car after washing. I have found a way to eliminate this effect completely. I do a final rinse with store-bought distilled water which dries absolutely clean with no residue whatsoever. I use a battery-powered pressure washer (I have a Dewalt unit that works great.) that can be fed from a 5-gallon bucket containing the distilled water. Four to five gallons are enough to rinse the card. It is especially good in the gaps between panels where it is very hard to dry with a towel. It only costs about $7 for the water. I also use this system for my house windows.

Is this a good method for the very 1st wash of a brand new vehicle? Also, have you ever removed, or know how to remove set in water spots from an outboard engine cowl? Which products would also protect it afterwards? It’s black plastic, there’s got to be some awesome product on your cart to do it?! Cool video idea as well. God Bless!

While I appreciate the details of products and your need to get sponsored monetizing for your channel, its really hard to consider spending hundreds of dollars on car cleaning products. Some of us don’t have Porsche 911 wielding income like you. It’s really hard to watch this in spite of your well intended presentation and not get glossy eyed. Surely there are affordable products that merit discussion.

I'm getting confused with the complexity of all this. So you use a pre-wash and rinse. Then you use a snow foam and do you rinse or being to clean / rub with the snow foam on? I thought I saw you in another video rubbing the snow foam with a wash mitt after application but I previously thought you just rinse off snowfoam and don't touch it. Then you need another cleaner to use the 2 or 3 bucket method when you already washed it twice? Could I use bilt hamber touchless snow foam as a snow foam and hand wash and then just protect using Gyeon wetcoat as a sio sealent instead of wax, sealant ceramic coat etc. Maybe a pre-wash too if necessary? I just want a simple, easy routine that gives great results.
