Can I ask why backstitching isn’t done or required? I have never made a quilt and am learning…
ОтветитьAs a very beginner is there a sewing machine that you would recommend that is user friendly?
ОтветитьLadies.. cannot tell how incredible you both are with your demonstration skills! You should have your own show! I made a beautiful quilt for my granddaughter following your step by step instructions! Bravo to both of you! Forever grateful!!
ОтветитьVery helpful tutorial, since I just wanted to make a quilt for my zero-G chair, too funky shaped to find in a store. I've only done garments, so some different steps I wouldn't have considered. I also had to buy a walking foot for my machine, as it's just a standard sewing, so it's good to see that in operation and that it gets used during the binding process as well. The Juki sounds like an old school rotary phone when it's sped up.
ОтветитьI use to get down on the floor to work with my quilt project but..unfortunately I can’t do that anymore as I have 2bad knees and have had a total right knee replacement on my right knee. Bummer as I always liked getting down on the floor if I was even cleaning cabinets etc. It’s hard on knees.
ОтветитьThank you for your video. I’m pretty much a new beginner with quilting so..I need so much easy go explanations of each step. You ladies are great at this in explaining all this.
ОтветитьI know quilting is often regarded as a woman's thing and or something your grandma did and my grandma quilted alot back in the day,but i see no reason why men cant quilt too,and it's something ive always had an interest in as well.
ОтветитьThis video is exactly what i needed to find! The information was presented perfectly and I absorbed the process enough to feel confident in having a first go. Thank you ladies! 🥰
ОтветитьHello this is brilliant i am trying to learn but no matter what i do my fabrics keep fraying
ОтветитьThank you for posting this. Great information on how a quilt is made. Where did you get the Juki table? I just got a TL-18,QVP, and I'd love to have this table.
ОтветитьSuch a helpful video, thank you!! I've never made a quilt but have been wanting to try it for a while and this gave me so much confidence to try!
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing . sooo many helpful tips! this is definitely easier that the blocks I am cutting . love it
ОтветитьJust finished my first ever quilt using this tutorial. it's not perfect but i'm really happy with the results.
ОтветитьI needed a video that discussed the basics of quilt assembly--and this was perfect! I quilt, but I don't follow any measurements or classic design principles. I love to just randomly sew strips of whatever fabric I love together along with muslin pieces embellished with ribbon or yarn. BUT, I was stumped as to how to put the quilt sandwich together and attach the binding. Thank you for this tutorial--it was clear and easy to understand, and now my finished quilt tops are making wonderful finished quilts!
ОтветитьMerhabalar dilinizi bilmiyorum izleyerek anlamaya çalışıyorum bende aynısından yapmaya başladım kullandığınız makine ayağının ne olduğunu ogrenebilirmiyim teşekkürler ❤
ОтветитьThank you for the guide!
ОтветитьHi, thank you very much for this video ❤ Could you please tell me what rotary cutter you're using?
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьI’d like to suggest using just one system of measurement in the same project.
ОтветитьCan I make this quilt on a domestic machine?
ОтветитьI’m completely new to sewing and have just bought a new machine. I don’t think it was mentioned on the video how to secure the beginning and ending stitches. Do I sew backwards over the beginning and end of the seam each time?
ОтветитьI’ve never quilted. Don’t know many men who have but I have a few antique quilts from GG-Grandmother, G-Grandmother, and Grandmother (I don’t think my mother ever did any, she was into knitting and crocheting). I have been wanting to try it for a long time and after watching this I definitely feel more confident. I will do a couple small ones like this to practice but eventually, I want to make a larger one with the hundreds of Crown Royal bags of different materials and colors, that I have been collecting for many years. Thank you for this detailed and well articulated video!!
ОтветитьI love your step by step explanation. Am a beginner and this is great for me. Thank you 😊
ОтветитьOk. Because if this video... I am starting my first quilt. I have been afraid if everything except the quilt top. Now I can complete a quilt. Than you sooo very much..
ОтветитьThisnos a great video! Thank you both!
ОтветитьWow thank you ladies for teaching me this. I can't wait to make my first quilt
ОтветитьThank you for new info although I have been piecing/quilting for 30 plus years!
ОтветитьThank you so much. First video I've watched on quilting. Looks like I could try this x
ОтветитьIs there a way to finish the binding with the sewing machine?
Ответитьis the walking foot necessary?
ОтветитьWanted to make a quilt for our first grandchild and didn't know where to start. This tutorial was absolutely brilliant and I couldn't have made it without Tracey and Emma. Thanks so much! Mum and baby love the quilt!
ОтветитьFantastic! Exactly what I was looking for.
Ответитьdo you finish the edges?
ОтветитьWhat kind of ruler is that? I would like to buy one but not sure which one to buy?? I have everything but that kind of ruler
ОтветитьThanks for this video! It was very helpful. I can't wait to have a go at making my own first quilt. It's something I've wanted to do for years, but never quite worked up the courage to do until now, so I'm really excited! :)
ОтветитьLovely ladies,, enjoyed watching and learning, you are a great team xx
ОтветитьWow Thank you how to bind the strip to back by hand.
ОтветитьFabulous tutorial! I can't wait to give quilting a go! Is it possible to machine stitch without a walking foot? I found out today that there is no such attachment for my machine.
ОтветитьI love the enthusiasm of the people posting here 👍❤️. However, where does one get the money for all the new sewing machines ? Mine is a bit of a dicky old thing, very basic, that was gifted to me by a lovely old lady I know 🙀. I feel very grateful for it though. I’m sure it will do the job, of helping me make this wonderful quilt. It sews okay I guess, but not great. I had to get it seen to by a sewing machine repairer, so I hope it starts working better. If anyone’s got a second hand, fancier machine than mine, that they want to sell of give away, I’m interested in buying it 😀. Transporting a sewing machine isn’t a good idea, as they’re very fragile creatures when in transit, so if you live in my town, let me know. That would have to be a miracle, right… LoL ! 😹
I live in Canberra, ACT, Australia, and my name is Leonie Cent. You can find me on FB.
Happy sewing to you all 👍❤️😀🌈
What kind of stitch is good to use for hand sewing the binding? Thank you for this, I feel ready to try ❤
ОтветитьHELP! I already knit, weave, sew and crochet. This video is making quilting look so tempting. I can’t believe I’m considering taking up a new craft. My husband is going to freak out.
ОтветитьAbout to start my first quilt!!! I keep watching this, thank you so much. What size walking foot do I need please? I've seen 5 mm and 7 mm?
ОтветитьI'm diving into the world of quilting and this is a phenomenal video for beginners. Thank you!
ОтветитьI’m starting my first quilt next week. Thank y’all so much for this video. Very informative, and I am definitely more confident that I will be successful after watching. 🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you!
ОтветитьEven the first five minutes was so helpful!
ОтветитьThank you, wish me luck ❤
ОтветитьI am relearning how to sew after 55 years ago learning. But I never took my pins out until i was finished sewing. I took home ec and we were taught to leave them in so why are they taking them out now? I relize EVERYTHING has changed.
Ответитьdo you have to hand stitch the binding or can you machine sew and finish the binding that way? My hand stitching is not good :/
Ответить
