I love squirrel and dumplings. Roasted squirrel is fine too, but brine them for at LEAST 8 hours first. Overnight is even better.
Then they are TASTY. Roasting without brining first will give ya a gamey tasting meal.
Tip: Cook over coals . . . not flame. Good video.

Gray squirrels are on the endangered species list Buddy. You didn’t have to kill the squirrel. You could have got food from the market that has already been murdered.I know this is a scenario for survival but you really don’t have to kill an animal to show us how to survive. Just remember grey squirrels because of people like you are on the endangered species list…karma never sleeps! Haha. Red neck! Hot sauce is not eaten as a survival food.
