How would you fix this mess?
ОтветитьLove your work. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
ОтветитьI wouldnt do that strip the chalk out and rechalk with finer chalk line
ОтветитьI love how you Glorify God putting these bible verses up. Good job brother
ОтветитьCaulk is what is in a caulking gun. It's not called caulking.
Is paint in a tin called ,painting ?
Just stop it.
You applied the tape, showed the cauld gun and then started to paint. When do apply the caulk?
ОтветитьYour too far out man ,,need to go close so it was a waste of time bro
ОтветитьDid you take tape off wet or dry?
ОтветитьAppreciate the information.
What kind of caulking allows you to paint over immediately?
Thanks a lot for the video. Question, I have this probelm but one wall is light gray and the other dark gray. do I make a new "dark" gray or "light" gray line?
ОтветитьNever start your tape in the middle of the cut. Always make ur tape as long as possible. Take the time to bring your tape from top to bottom. Don’t use multiple pieces of tape to creat a line they will never match up perfectly.
ОтветитьGreat videos but why do you put up bible verses?
Ответитьrecently purchased a home and they did a terrible job painting. Clearly used minimal amount of caulk. Do I need to remove the old caulk or can I put new paintable caulk over the old stuff?
ОтветитьHow do i fix bad edging. Wall one color ceiling another no straight line. Help!
ОтветитьI love the scripture in the left hand corner. I could tell you are a man of God by your character
ОтветитьAbout this cauling technique if i did my trim finished then caulked the tape over it thats 1 coat i take the tape off before dries then i need to 2nd coat it uk paints for sure dont cover in 1 coat
ОтветитьI have what may be an odd question. I am painting an old house with very imperfect drywalled/mudded walls(bumps dips etc). Other that obviously mudding it correctly first: When cutting edges ie ceiling/wall:
Are are you aiming for dead center of the edge(50/50) or do you make your line on the wall or ceiling?
My first round of this went slowly because i was free handing it and aiming for the perfect 50/50 split. But im seeing better results now by just putting my ceiling line on the wall itself. Just 1/16 or 1/8. But by doing this i find i can use the ceiling to steady my hand with brush againt the ceiling. More pressure than i was using before because im not aiming for he exact corner. You follow me?
Instead of clear caulk I always brush a Clear coat of peel stop by Zinnser. It seals the tape to stop bleed thru. It dries real fast then I paint 2 quick coats and then remove tape. Always straight lines.
ОтветитьLoad of bollocks from the uk
ОтветитьAwesome. I've been using this technique for many many years but I start from the top, go all the way Down to the bottom using one continuous strip of tape to avoid breaks in the line unless you are very good at connecting the tape perfectly. If you have to use breaks in the tape, maje sure you rip the tape before you stick it down to avoid curving the Tape.
ОтветитьWhen did john cena start doing diy lol.
ОтветитьGo on john cena
ОтветитьJust taught my new guy this! You learn these little techniques over time doing years of painting!!!
ОтветитьLove the channel! It’s taught me a ton, however; I’m having difficulties with figuring out cleaning and storing methods for spraying latex vs oil based paints, any chance you could make a video? I have two deck stains in about to use, I can’t determine if I can spray them or not because one says water based, the other says acrylic/oil blend
ОтветитьYou are really good .the problem is the the way you have the latter make the video look Profesional 👍
ОтветитьIf you need tape for everything that means you don't have painter skills.
ОтветитьBeen watching your cut-in videos and i was wondering if is necessary to dampen the brush before one starts to paint? I understand that dampening the brush helps keep the paint that is worked into the meat of the bristles from drying quicker.
Ответитьprofessional paint seldom use masking tape. they are for diyers only
ОтветитьYou waste tape. Do you get frogtape free for promoting it?
ОтветитьYo paint lifer lol, thanks so much, it’s rewarding to have nice crisp lines , painting is cool, its very artistic, ✌️
ОтветитьExcellent explanation but the cameraman is not doing you justice, can't see the detail brush work and the precision laser line on the window.
ОтветитьYou are the fucking MAN!
ОтветитьOh and I forgot to mention I am spraying them not brushing or rolling
ОтветитьHelp i started painting my kitchen oak cabinets today using the stix primer one coat of the sitx so far and it's almost all yellow now what do I do I am going to use the ppg breakthough paint .
ОтветитьLooks good, been doing that for years fixing sloppy cuts especially when I did commercial work..
ОтветитьSeems like you should have still used some caulk to fill the cracks. Even though your line is straight the eye goes to the poor caulking job.
ОтветитьAnother great video. Thank you.
ОтветитьChris I want to tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I was able to paint my house here recently. You gave me the confidence and the tips to be able to do it. It’s not perfect but I am very happy with the way it turned out. I used a Graco X5 Magnum airless sprayer. It worked really well. Painted my yellow fiber cement siding a dark blue “anchors away, sherwin Williams”. I was amazed how well it covered. I used the sherwin Williams Everlast paint from Lowe’s. Thank you so much for what you do! God bless you my brother.
ОтветитьIve done this before especially for fixing up diy feature walls when one wall is different color the ceiling cut in not so bad but left and right wall cut in is sometimes wobbly as
I suppose its all practice and will come with time
Thanks for the tip. Your videos have taught me so much in these past months after starting my company
ОтветитьI generally use the same method on base board and other wood trim. I use regular masking tape with clear caulking, mainly because there's always that gap between the baseboard/trim and wall. As you mentioned, put your tape down, run the caulking and cut in, then get the tape off before everything dries. I usually mention it to the customer and they're like "Yeah, whatever" but after they see the finished product they're pretty impressed. Probably used ten cents worth of product to give it a much cleaner, more professional look.
ОтветитьWhere are your painting Whites from?
ОтветитьAnother often looked over Tip, is clean the surface before taping, dirt n dust affect tape sticking well.
Cheers
Good video Chris....👍
ОтветитьBeat your sales reps up. I pay less for green frog tape per roll than I do for blue. Canadian dollars but I pay 5 bucks a roll for green and the blue is around $30 for a pack of 4
ОтветитьGreat tip - love painting and always wondered how to address this frustrating situation.
ОтветитьGreat video material! One question: in your video intro, what is that that's attached to your roller pole? Thanks!
Ответить🤙. Thanks you're the best
ОтветитьTrying to get our house painted before snow, gonna have to come back an do cutins later, can you paint in wintertime or no?
Ответить
