I am SO excited for this video! I was falling out of reading a few months ago and your literary fiction recommendations revived my love for it. I’ll be taking notes on which books to buy next 😝
Ответить... seriously looking forward to this!
ОтветитьI read Rebecca when I was 13-14. I was traumatized. I was very overly sheltered and stupid
ОтветитьHello mauve! Happy Monday 🧡🧡🧡🧡
ОтветитьJust finished school! Legit can’t wait to get back into reading. Perfect timing 😅
ОтветитьFirst an Astros WorldSeries Championship Parade and now a book video from one of my favorite ASMRTIST. Today is a good day. 😀
ОтветитьBABE WAKE UP MAUVE ASMR JUST POSTED
ОтветитьOhhh I didn’t realize Second Place was your favourite Cusk! It’s the only one I have by her but I was deterred by some mediocre reviews.
I hate choosing favourites but if I have to I’ll pick The Sparrow (epic sci-fi but make it a theological study) and the peculiar life of a lonely postman (how loneliness forces companionship)
Classic literature : “Don Quixote” is the greatest writing I’ve ever read!
Other favorites: “Hyperion” for sci-fi lovers. I think it’s even better than “Dune”, another favorite!!
Fitzgerald’s “Tender Is the Night”!
Modern literature: anything by Paul Auster, especially “Moon Palace” or “Oracle Night”!!
My favorite book ever might be “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. Sensational writing.
My favorite recommendation from your book videos: “West” by Carys Davies”. Masterwork novella! “Weather” by Jenny offill was amazing too! Also you got me into sally Rooney’s work so thanks!! Amazing author. 😄🙏🏻
Recently read Second Place (thanks for the recommendation) and I loved it! Bought the Outline Trilogy immediately afterwards.
ОтветитьYour whispering is so soothing. Love it❤
ОтветитьI've never been able to get into "BookTube" - you're one of few people I enjoy listening to talk about books on this format! We have similar tastes and I appreciate how specific you are about what speaks to you in each book without seeming pretentious. I'm reading The Annotated Mrs. Dalloway now and have read a book by Vita Sackville-West, All Passion Spent. Not one of my favorites of that genre but you might enjoy it (or similar books published by Virago Press).
ОтветитьI had to look up ‘semiotics’
ОтветитьOh hell yeah!!!!
ОтветитьI want to get and read them all
ОтветитьReally enjoy your book videos! Always super thoughtful, and most of what you read is totally different than what I normally go for. Making a note of a few of these books for the future! I read Mrs. Caliban two? three? months ago after picking it up because you mentioned it and OMG I'm still thinking about the last 20 pages of the book. Cheers 🍻
ОтветитьThank You For This Amazing Experience...🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьYour books videos are the sole reason for my existence 😭🤍
Edit: YES please do like 2000 more book videos I need them in my life
Rebecca is one of my all time fave books. I also love Watership Down. I re-read it every few years.
ОтветитьI love Rebecca! Whenever I recommend it to people I tell them it’s like watching an old movie in your head…in the best way. But I agree the books are always so ugly 😂
ОтветитьI am very curious to know your all time faves! I definitely need to get into reading again, for me it comes in waves 😂
ОтветитьHey Mauve. How are you today?
I was hoping you'd choose Rebecca. I re-read it last year and it's one of my favorites ever. My edition seems a bit strange but I actually love the design of the cover. It has a beautiful illustration of Rebecca and the main character.
The Second Place and The Idiot sound pretty good. I think I've already added both to my Goodreads TBR.
Now I want to read Portrait Of A Marriage for the Non Fiction November challenge.
I really love listening to you talk about books in general. Thank you for always interacting with us and having our requests in mind. You're the best.
Hope you have a nice week.
Awesome video! Yes, more please 😻💜💙💜
ОтветитьI've read Giovannis Room this year and LOOOOVED it! One of my absolute favorite books is "On Chesil Beach" by Ian McEwan. It's a heavy read not because it's difficult to read but it portrays perfectly the complexity of a human being. Highly recommend this one. I read it a second time this year because it never let me go.. To me it's a brilliant book and I'm slightly shocked that this book is written by a man because I can relate to the female protagonist so immensely. But I guess Ian McEwan is just a terrific writer. 💙
Ответить”I like a good book, only a good book though”, girl, same. Thats why I’m not much of a reader these days, cant commit unless I know its going to be good. Might give The Idiot a chance however. Thanks for the video, it helped me get rid of my headache!
ОтветитьTo answer your question:
yes please make more videos of you describing your favorite books. They are wonderful.
have you ever read anything else by james baldwin? i love his work sooooo much, you might like Another Country if you liked giovanni’s room. also random but have you ever read or heard of the book Space Invaders by Nona Fernandez? i’m getting into latin american alt literary fiction and i thought of u when i heard about it, seemed like it would be up your alley
ОтветитьYour videos are awesome but hard to hear. 😕. I don’t have trouble with other asmrtists. I wear my ear buds.
Ответитьadding some of these to my reading list <3
ОтветитьBook videos are the best 🌜
ОтветитьHave you read, The Power of Positive Thinking. Or The Law of Power or Atomic Habits???
ОтветитьDo you prefer hardbacks, paperbacks or kindle for reading? I’m trying to get into kindle to save space but i’m not finishing books, just starting new ones!😂
ОтветитьCurious—what’s with the spirit fingers?? I get the tapping and whispering.
ОтветитьMy favorite book and possibly one of the best classics: Wuthering Heights. so deep in character and just such a passionate story. but also, if you’re into the real old school stuff, the hunchback of notre dame and Les Miserables are beautiful, both by Victor Hugo.
ОтветитьOmg I just started reading Rebecca based on this video and I cannot stop reading it. It’s so intriguing. The details and the way the scenes are painted are fantastic.
ОтветитьMy name is Rebecca and I found out about the book cause I googled movies with my name and there's a Hitchcock movie based on this book. Absolutely loved the movie but haven't read the book yet. I'm so happy that this story exists tho. Made me like my name more lol 💖💖
ОтветитьI love ASMR book reviews! Well done, ma’am!
ОтветитьLove your book videos so much!! Will gladly watch as many of your favorites videos as you make😭❤️
ОтветитьI just saw this channel. I enjoyed your book reviews. I will have to read a few of those. Thank you.
ОтветитьI have so many copies of Rebecca! And you’re right, they’re not the best but I can’t stop collecting them.
ОтветитьI remember being assigned Rebecca for my 7th grade English class. The same week I brought the book home I was also grounded… so I binge read the entire thing. Still one of my all time favorites as well 💕
ОтветитьMy fave books are The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Alice in Wonderland (basic, I know). I’m far more of a cinephile than a bookworm, but I may have to check a few of these out! Thanks for the calming videos.
ОтветитьNeed to know your lip color!!! Beautiful!
ОтветитьWow. I’m honestly blown away by every single one of these I’m excited to add them to my list
Ответитьdo you have a goodreads account?
ОтветитьNoway u read all that
ОтветитьI feel like this is gonna come off a little weird, but you have the most gorgeous lips I’ve ever seen
ОтветитьOmg I’ve been trying to find a beautiful cover of Rebecca for years! Why can’t they just make one nice edition?! I didn’t realise this was a thing 😅
ОтветитьWould you possibly consider making another follow up video to this series? I love your book reviews so much ❤
