Hey SweetWater can you do an update for 2018 on a portable pro tools studio or Logic ProX

turn up the volume on your computer and listen to the fan on the Sonnet roar!! Magma PCIe chassis are the loudest by far but there is nothing portable and usable about a chassis that makes more noise than my cheese grater mac tower. You cant track or mix in the same room with any current pcie chassis on the market (still) and its 2017... this video came out 5 years ago. Dont buy a pcie chassis unless you have an isolated control room. period.

Hi, I just had two questions about HD Omni. do I have to buy the thunderbolt connection separately or I just choose between PCI and Thunderbolt when I'm purchasing it? does it comes with pro tools software too?

yes, it should be fine, you can check the updated compatibility on the Avid website which has far more supported offerings now than at the time of this video.

The new iMacs do have i7s, but even the ones with quad core i5s will work fine with Pro Tools and this set up.

the mac is not the correct deck for the software must be asus deck completlt dedicated to sx and protools why the mac do not have all ports needed

It's much lighter than an ATA case. It is about the same weight as one of their newer roto cases. Needless to say much lighter than most cases for having wheels and handles. Sweetwater has the case weighing 23.5 pounds for the 4U.

SKB StudioFlyer 4U. I have one for my mobile recording/live performance rig and it has sustained some incredible drops with no problem to the equipment inside. not to mention it has holes for cable passthrough to your laptop on top.
