What's your favorite Fable game Dad? 🐶
ОтветитьThe mural from the first game was so inspiring to see, it's what got me into illustration
ОтветитьI like the 1st one alot , but the others having death be of no consequence killed the fun for me.
ОтветитьI'm gonna stop you at the whole "Will is weak!" BS because once you unlock the constant damage plus stun lock of Divine Fury or Infernal Wrath you will never go back to melee.
ОтветитьSo glad I found this video and your channel!
Also, not a popular opinion, I like 1,2, & 3 and for different reasons. 1 is most nostalgic but too short, 2 was a great middle that was longer but many glitches, and I liked the new idea of ruling in three and some of the improvements & enhancements.
I like them all, had journey but never got a Kinect to try it, think I might now though:
good route: i told a woman about her cheating husband
evil route: i took money from the cheating husband
me who took his money and then told her anyway-
The dog isn't necessarily permanently dead if you choose one of the endings that DOESN'T bring your character's family back. If you have the Knothole Island DLC, you can sacrifice an NPC at a place called "Cheet-Urs Tomb" to bring your character's dog back to life. The tomb doesn't show up until the post-game though for obvious reasons.
ОтветитьSee my main gripe about the fable series is that the evil playthroughs just aren't... cool... or really fun? Like the good ones, yeah you feel good, do good cool things. But the evil ones are so over the top like "Eat 32 orphans and throw dogs into the ocean."
Okay... edgy and dorky
Also the sacrifice end for 2 is so boring it adds nothing. Love all the way
fact check 1: selling 1m copies in a year really isn’t a huge feat in comparison to most AAA (or AAAA) games that need to sell at least 1m to break even, it only sold well in comparison to other xbox titles of the time
fact check 2: Fable was far from the first game to let players chose good or evil paths and definitively did not popularise it in mainstream or even indie game culture. it’s a tried concept since the days of table top RPG’s and was if anything popularised in digital games by series like Baldur’s Gate and Fallout, in the 90’s
I'm old Gregg
ОтветитьFable imo has to be the best rpg in terms of its elements I would say morrowind aswell, and the newer ones like skyrim and fallout 4 are better when it comes to actual fighting and action
ОтветитьThe trick with sneaking past the bandits to get into Twinblades camp is archery. If you do a manual zoom and aim, you can shoot off their heads. It doesn’t alert any of the other guards, so you can take out all three.
ОтветитьNever played the PS virtual reality game. But I was hyped for it to come out only to be met with zero general coverage. I think Fable could be the first great VR game and I wish I could drop my life and lead that project but I’m lazy and computer illiterate so I’ll never create that timeline.
ОтветитьFirst time I played fable, I spent the first 30 minutes running around farting on villagers. Good game.
ОтветитьAny game that will let your canine sacrifice their life for you isn't pulling any punches
ОтветитьWhen I was like 5-9 I would sit with my older sister and watch her play fable on the og xbox and later on we got the 2nd and 3rd ones and honestly was such a keystone part of my childhood I just got the series x and got all 3 games I'm on the first one rn and man it's really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy playing this after so long
ОтветитьWatching this I get the impression you have to search for actual gameplay and when you're there then it's apparently one button combat. I don't know, I have Fable Anniversary in my library, since it was on deep sale once and I think the video gives a good impression of the game, it just doesn't seem for me...
ОтветитьThe right choice when it comes to the nymph is kill it it ain't that hard
ОтветитьYou know fable 2 is was gonna be good when Darth Traya was your guide
ОтветитьFable 2 sub targeting is really fun. I generally endeavour to get subtargeting as soon as possible.
ОтветитьIs Albion Online just another flop? Made by Peter.M, right?
ОтветитьI do have to say though I think one thing that makes fable the best of the best is that even since 2004 theres nothing "politically-incorrect'" about it. It was just about making a game that made you decide on choices and gave you consequences.
Ответить🤦♀️thats not a golem thats a troll my dude
Ответитьfor Fable 2 and its auto-target, it may go through each enemy currently spawned into the scene, determine the closest enemy, and then re-orients the player to face the enemy in question
ОтветитьHad this video in my tabs for like 8 months and I’m only just getting round to watching it
ОтветитьI know this is a year old but this is just incredible.
ОтветитьWhen youre talking about the rooms with all of your gui options and you talk about not knowing where it came from but attributing it to peters decision, yeah it is, but its also a strong callback to black & white that tried to have next to no gui at all and put a lot of your typical menu options in the players temple, each room did stuff that one would expect to be handled in a menu and that was in 2001 and it was cool as hell. its strange to see so many fable retrospectives that dont even mention black & white, the whole good vs evil thing warping the way your character looks, straight from black and white. in that game you play as god and your disembodied hand is the cursor, it can turn red and vainey with long black fingernails if youre evil and bloom and more white if youre good, your temple also changed in even more dramatic and gorgeous ways, but the show stealer was the godly creature you controlled as your avatar, hes like a tomagotchi youve got to feed him and clean up his poo and he sleeps and he learns by watching you and he can turn good or evil with visuals that match. i see a little bit of that inspired the dogs in fable. The map table also came from black and white but also populus and i think magic carpet from bullfrog studios peters earlier studio.
Ответить"Fable as a whole, did a lot for video games". What fable did, was kill Black & White. Continuing the franchise beyond the first fable was Lionheads evil playthough.
ОтветитьThe ability to punish the dog is there for people playing a chaotic evil character.
ОтветитьFable 1 is good, Fable 3 is great but Fable 2? Fable 2 is as close to perfection as I can describe. If Fable 2 were to be available on PC it would be game over! Just imagine mods created by fans that fix bugs and mechanics which have aged gracefully. I love these games, and I love your videos covering them. Thank you for the retrospective!
ОтветитьOne of the funniest details is if you marry resurrected Lady Grey, you'll have pale zombie children. I think you missed a lot of those details like your child being a baby until you go through the spire, then they become kids.
Buy Lucian's castle, earning the title 'King', sidequests from the story properties you buy..
"She wasn't going to marry again.. necessary." 🤣
ОтветитьIf you don’t love fable III, I hate you.
ОтветитьYour hero is nothing more than a puoppet servant
ОтветитьBeing good is boring in fable
ОтветитьIt was all downhill after The Lost Chapters. I see a lot of love for Fable II like its not as bad as three. Come on now, one hit boss? Clothing not armor? There are some things even a dog can't make up for.
ОтветитьA lot of casual misogyny here
ОтветитьYour struggles with the Kinect are not unique to you. I'm a little surprised by you apparently not knowing this, the Kinect is notorious for being a very frustratingly bad and inaccurate control system.
ОтветитьI like Fable but the story 😂 it's like it's written by an edgy 17 year old. 😂 "Lord Lucien" lol.
ОтветитьI sincerely appreciate your willingness to inject roleplay within the narrative of your retrospective, it adds the right level of charm that reminds me of my first time playing the game, when it was so fresh and my imagination expanded upon the Black n White morality system.
It wasnt about maxing out stats and numbers, just going with the flow of how you want to act within the world they provide.
Correction: The Balverine didn't come from massive beasts called "Balvorns" the Balvorn was a single creature.
The Oracle of Snowspire has stated
"The first Balverine was born out of the bite of a creature far more terrible, the Balvorn, who dwelt upon this world when gods and demons were still the primary force. When men first started to walk amongst them, the Balvorn would feast on the flesh of thousands at a time. Only once did a human survive such an attack. He became the first Balverine, and his curse has survived to this day"
Later in legends it says:
"When the Hero-turned-balverine did die, strange flowers grew around his grave, and as the flowers had fed on his cursed corpse, they passed the curse to the wanderers who happened to smell them."
So originally the balvorn was like a single mythoogical entity, and further on the first balverine was apparently the one who slew it, not just a survivor, but then again Legends was cancelled so canon might not hold.
We also don't know if the Oracle is actually a reliable narrator.
Fable 3 is kind of like the dark souls 2 of fable
Ответить"Reaver has a back entrance." I bet he does lol
