Meh, just bring in more Illegal aliens and give them subsidized Housing and Healthcare.
Problem solved.
I love my state of New York and I’m proud of that but property taxes are sky high in upstate New York, for decades estate has not cultivated a competitive environment for business growth, housing is expensive
ОтветитьLeave New York City to the Billionaires and Democrats.
ОтветитьMore jobs yayyy!!!
ОтветитьBuild more housing to get housing prices lower.
ОтветитьToo expensive
Mean people
Over crowded
No wonder!
Fuck NYC! high taxes, speed cameras, NYPD im retiring in dominican republic, fuck you NYC
ОтветитьNo surprise. The state is a leftist shithole run by communists.
ОтветитьWe have a fake installed government since Spitzer and no one wants to live under communism and censorship.
ОтветитьKey point: We should possibly keep the migrants.
ОтветитьLooking at past trends throws the projections way off.
ОтветитьThey've made it impossible for anyone other than the opulently wealthy to afford to live there. What were they expecting? This is what they want. An economy for the very rich and an entire class of servants. We're only here to wipe their butts and nothing else.
Ответитьas a nyc resident, i see a growing divide between the population here, increasing number of poor people and the extremely wealthy
ОтветитьNew York State is the worst!!!!
ОтветитьLong Island is overpopulated in my opinion.
ОтветитьWhite people, please, for the love of God, have more babies to continue our people! I have a few so far planning on having more
ОтветитьI wish democrat New Yorkers could leave the state. They voted for all this bs they should be forced to stay.
ОтветитьWelll duuuuuhhhhh
ОтветитьWe could see 2 million fewer New Yorkers...while we somehow gain 5 million illegal undocumented migrants
ОтветитьNY will always have enough people, they can deport a few million and still have enough people.
ОтветитьIt's no surprise. Cold weather, high taxes, high cost of living, corrupt politicians make people want to leave.
Ответитьthe answer is not IMPORTING a lot of poor people
ОтветитьNot surprised. They tax us WAY too much. NY has the highest TAX RATE out of every state with CA coming in second.
ОтветитьWe won’t notice though… I moved from the Bronx to Putnam County. The population here is lesser than the city but it’s a fresh breath of air per se…growing up in the city it was noticeably less people which made finding an apartment or home quicker and cheaper. Let’s hope that comes back after they starting kicking people out.
ОтветитьI actually think some of us are considering moving back up north. Florida is mess right now especially with the insurance issues. And it's no longer the cheap place that it was advertised to be
ОтветитьWell deserve especially nyc it’s way too expensive for even younger plp to want kids and live there
ОтветитьThe decline isn't super dramatic overall. The reality is that NYS--particularly upstate--has for the lives of most citizens been in perpetual decline. New York State has had millions of productive people leave for greener pastures with the seemingly endless blue collar job layoffs going on. You'd think NYS would want to attract businesses, but in reality they don't care based on the ever increasing taxes. You'd think given the robust education system it wouldn't be very difficult to attract people up here despite the weather, but I've seen no changes. I personally think their backup plan is to replace everybody with migrants/refugees.
ОтветитьNeeds more housing and not only focus on nyc but have more jobs in other cities
ОтветитьKeep electing politicians like Kathy Hochul and Letitia James if you want this to continue.
Ответитьthat's the bad news??????
ОтветитьHumans are an invasive species. The ecosystem would do good with less of us.
ОтветитьHigh crime high taxes low quality of life with so many other modern affordable states to live in 2024 new york is old news.
ОтветитьFlee the blue, join the red.
ОтветитьWhy live in NYC when you have all the same things with less stress in Boston, Miami, DC, or cut costs by moving to Philly or Chicago
ОтветитьI'm one of the people leaving very soon!
ОтветитьI don’t see the problem. Pretty annoying that every media channel keeps saying every area in the country has to be having a population increase or else. This area of the country is already extremely crowded.
ОтветитьHow ??? They’re bringing in thousands of illegals daily. Stop the crap
ОтветитьThere’s also a bit more crimes, not enough jobs, higher inflation, and, over-priced property taxes!
ОтветитьPropaganda to push trash Latinos
ОтветитьPolicy since the 1970s has de-emphasized the family unit and many non-profits/NGOs have targeted the nuclear family as something oppressive. Divorce rates have skyrocket following the no-fault divorce legislation. As we look back on these failed policies we are beginning to see the irreversible damage they have caused.
ОтветитьAlready lost population, don’t know where you got your data. Lost almost 3/4 of 1 million people to cut 1 electoral college votes out since 2020.
ОтветитьA great state run by a terrible state government
ОтветитьNew York laws promote low fertility by teaching women that they can be men and vice versa. It allows women to turn down men that they can procreate with who they consider a threat to the feminist movement. The aging population will die in debt from the ridiculous taxes and overpriced goods which is wasted after expiring. The migration to the state, who wants to live here? There is not enough affordable housing. All of the new buildings being developed are made for the upper middle class+super wealthy, those making over at least 150k and up. It is unrealistic the way things are operating in the state. The state is run by democratic crooks who only think about themselves/wallets/purses and propose sick agendas that discourage people from wanting to raise a family here.
ОтветитьUS population didn't even drop from COVID because there has been so much illegal immigration.
ОтветитьHigh taxes, terrible roads, lousy climate, Democrat control.
ОтветитьGood to see this topic being taken up by local news. If you were born after 2000 population collapse is going to be the biggest crisis in your lifetime. More so than climate change or the federal government's budget deficit or national debt.
ОтветитьOf course the property insurance market is collapsing in Florida, Texas struggles to keep the lights on, Phoenix has set records for going months with 100+ degree temperatures, and North Carolina look safe till, uh, that big hurricane that also wacked Florida and Georgia. With global warming accelerating, I would not make any firm predictions, as the Sunbelt has big issues with climate... of course, New York is currently on fire...
ОтветитьI fled for good in 2022. It would be a hard ask for me to move back.. Cost of living is crazy. State Government is too top heavy.
ОтветитьGreat news! Traffic has quadrupled here in WNY over the last 40 years. And I sure as hell don't feel as safe as I did in the 1970's and 1980's. Keep Buffalo a secret: Stay the hell out!
ОтветитьAnyone else thinking of that Simpsons clip?
