It's nice, but it would be nicer if Apple made a small desktop with a few expansion slots. But that's never gonna happen now especially with Apple Silicon.

Very cool addons. Not a very cool price. The egpu is 600. That doesn’t include a graphics card. Add a GPU (in todays prices) that’s another 400. We are now 1k into our macmini (not including the Mac mini) then we want the Mac mini module.. that’s 500 more.. sonnet. Come on man. We get it, you make stuff for Mac. But the prices don’t have to be more than the computer.

With the eGPU Models and sonnet duomodo Xmas mini, we could install a Lunar client for Minecraft and the 1,000,000💣s could do nothing to the Mac and the Radeon 6800 with metal! PerKing will be proud

A shame that Black Magic didn't keep updating their systems. Truly an awesome EGPU. if you can find one for a good price they are very awesome with INTEL mini's

Who is gonna buy this overpriced thing? You could get M1 MacMini for 600 bucs lol. Or build hackintosh where you can stick all those PCIe cards and more.

I feel like it's a disservice to your channel community to fail to mention that the M1 Mac Mini (or any Apple hardware running their own silicon) does not support any eGPUs.

This is very interesting. I'm waiting to see how useful a future Mini will be. However my focus is audio not video. Will enhanced GPU have any benefit to audio?

It would help if you explicitly stated that eGPUs don’t work with the M1 Mac mini. Or am I wrong about that. Yes, you did mention older Mac mini in passing, but you really needed a little more transparency here.

Sonnet is obviously smoking something, presenting a mount for a MacMini, remote connections (back), and a PCI remote connection. No thanks, I will build my own. Risers run about $30. Add a power supply, and your set. If you want a no-brainer solution, then whip that credit card out and max it out!

I'm "retiring" my Intel Macs but I've decided to keep a Mac mini for just-in-case Intel stuff, and now with an eGPU you can even put a current-generation AMD Radeon with it … this is suddenly very practical! Despite the eGPU being useless for M1, the fact is Windows for ARM refuses to run Xbox Pass and I have to have Windows for Intel. None of the Intel Macs have modern GPUs anymore, but with an eGPU that doesn't matter! And it's still half the price of a second-hand 2020 iMac with the best Radeon 5700XT, which is still a generation ago and now you're stuck with it. Versus eGPU that you can keep on upgrading.

Details of SSD speeds would be just as useful as GPU benchmarks. Sonnet have a habit of crippling NVMe performance in some of their Thunderbolt systems. The utterly useless dock with a pathetic 800MB/s for example. If the Xmac Mini duo modo matches the NVMe speed of their McFiver card in an 8x PCIe 3.0 slot/Thunderbolt enclosure, it’s still excessively expensive for what’s effectively a Thunderbolt dock with Mac Mini mounting abilities. If it can’t even manage that, it’s as waste of money.

I have a 2018 Mac mini. With the graphics card you suggested. Do I have to jail break them to get a boot up screen or will my Mac recognize them automatically.
