Hi J. I returned 2 units because of the brightness issue. I genuinely thought something was wrong with the phone. My pixel 8 pro appears much brighter next to it

Okay, let's hear it.....

To me, the 9 pro XL is night and day to the 8 pro. Best android experience. I've had the s24 ultra. used the iPhones, xiaomi and used many other devices. I don't care what no one says. The tensor chip is fine. I can game on it. I can do all the above without any hiccups at all. I have never seen this phone hiccup or the pixel 8 pro hiccup at all. Phone of the year in my opinion.

In regards to the auto brightness what I have done is downloaded the app it's called brightness control and dimmer. This app really does a really good job with auto brightness. It fixed the issues I've had with the auto brightness

I'm not sticking any of these phones in my pocket regardless. I don't like having things in my pockets so it's an easy choice with the XL.

I agree with you when it comes to smart phones battery. We have these smart phones for a very long long time already, lots of upgrades, features and with this new AI etc. but smart phone manufacturers seems like they don't give a $h!t about the battery life. I wish they will stop thinking about the new design and features that they are gonna put on their phones, but instead focus and think of how they are gonna improve the battery life and will last for at least 2 days of heavy usage without consumers turning on the battery saving mode or turning off this and that on the phones to conserve battery.

I wonder what it is about the North American market to where we get all the boring homogenized phones? I definitely think importing again could be a fun way to make things fresh again, because I can only look across the pond and sigh over how much more exciting their offerings seem to be.

But can we please stop saying that the Pixel 9 Pro XL has 8k recording because it simply does not. Google boosting 4k up to 8k is not true 8k and shouldn't even be mentioned. That's the one area Google pissed me off during the announcement. Sick of them relying on software to bandage hardware shortcomings. Beautiful device though.

i went for S24u for the batter chip and software even tho i was tempted by pixel 9 fold

Google takes a while to optimize their phones.

My Pixel 8 Pro was terrible at battery usage, now after updates it's as good as my OnePlus 12.
Apps sip battery now. But I use my phone's in battery saver mode always.

What J excellent work I got the pixel 9 fold but that honor magic v3 fold looks fire these companies would be in trouble if they were here in the states lol

I can’t get more than 6 hours of screen on time on my Pixel 9 Pro XL. Not sure why so many claim the battery is better.

I prefer larger devices if they feel good in the hand. I tried the s24 it was just too small for me, but it's nice that Google is giving us a size choice without compromise.
