USB Cables Explained | USB 3.0 3.1 3.2 Connectors

Hi all, so can you tell me please for example I want to buy laptop wich has 2 xUSB type A 5GB/s ports and I would like to plug 2.0 flush drives and cd/dvd reader into them.

I dont get how 4 connecter on a USB can be different speed... like what is the different?

So I have a laptop, I wan't to connect a Ethernet cable and it doesn't come with a port for it stock.
Meaning I have to buy an adapter, they have adapters that work on USB 3 or USB C to Ethernet.
I was wondering which would be better and faster.
I still don't have a clear idea on which one that is, even after watching multiple videos.
