Synthesia Review | ARE HUMAN BEINGS OBSOLETE?!

Very informative video.

This looks paid to me. But i am using it for my organisation. I generate raw videos and edit them in after effects. The major problems in synthesia that you can't see mouth movements before generating video and generating a video costs cred per minute that means generating is not free of cost. That forces you to stop try new character and check it because you don't like it if you think no its lips are not working properly. You can't do anything. Coz you have spent that cred and it will not be refunded. While hour one offers lip sync before generation that gives more transparency to users. Second in synthesia there is no feature to check how many creds you have spent and how many are remaining. Right in personal plan we get 10 creds for month which do not roll over. But there is no tracking feature in synthesia that how many creds i have spent and how many are remaining. Here creds are like minutes. While hour one gives you track your creds facility. This feature is a must but synthesia does not provide it. 3rd In synthesia there is no customer support therefore you rely upon only chat support. The only thing which gives me satisfaction in synthesia that 2 to 3 characters are very realistic. While hour one does not provide that much realistic characters and synthesia user interface is good. But still if i get anything close to synthesia i will definately switch.

4 things what i don't like in synthesia

1. You can't see lip movement for free you have to generate and spend creds to see it. Which creates fear among users to not try new characters.

2. No tracking feature available to check how many creds have been spent and how many are remaining. You have to manually think like i have spent 5 mins and 5 mins must be remaining for an example. Also they don't tell you or remind you that your purchased plan is about to end.

3. The minutes or creds you get in a plan do not roll over that means if you buy a monthly plan and you get 10 creds a month but you were able to spent only 9 than you won't get that one minute. Its gone. Next month you will only get 10 mins and not 11. So you have to spent every single cred within the time which you have to track manually and yes synthesia does not use the term month but uses 30 days more specifically.

4. You do not get any toll free number or you can't book a meeting with any customer representative. You have to rely only on chat support. There team supports you and they are good but still call support or bookong a meeting should be there.

These things give more transparency to the users.

30 USD for 1*10 min. video creation per is plainly spoken absurd. Thought about using , find it too greedy.

They’re heavily priced for hardly anything, nowhere near replacing humans.

The moderators of Syntesia turn down everything that you submit anyways. it is a waste of time.

Great video and channel. I can tell they're all fake. Easy to see. It looks good though. Scary technology that really shouldn't be advancing. In 10 years it will be very scary.....and even the next few years.

I enjoyed this video and I agree with you on the lip-sync issues. I have watched a couple of other videos on this, and I like your honest review. Especially with the custom avatar option that is extra $. That is really useful information. I suspect a lot of users will want to use their own image and voice and this may be a deal breaker for some. Any idea on how much extra this feature costs? Is it possible (when using the option for creating a blank (non-template) project) to animate graphics and text? I noticed that the templates do include animations of the graphic elements, but I'd like to see if it's possible to do more than simply add an image, slide or video to a blank project's background. I'm probably going to wait on this, but I do see how it's going to be a huge game changer.

Not obsolete, just immortal. Your personal company owns your avatar. If you pass away, someone else in your company can do the work.

We can only produce 10 minutes of video in the personal plan. Did I get right. If so, isn't it too expensive at $30? If I were to make Avatar 3 in Hollywood it would cost less.

Jenn, it's a good review, however, you should review their pricing plan and how it works before you promote their product as it's not very customer friendly. For $30/month, you can only create 10 minutes worth of video and that appears to be the max length as well. They give you 10 credits where 1 credit = 1 minute of video. However, they also state that editing consumes credits and you cannot buy more credits and the credits do not rollover from month to month. It's a great product, just not sure who would buy this under those conditions.

I think this is very cool - especially if you love technology. This also helps with accessibility for accurate closed captioning. The swallowing is weird...I would zoom out.

@jenn jager - Great review. These are great for instructional videos, but the AI is easily spotted quickly. I'd love to see a review with a custom avatar. I'm curious if the custom avatar with your own voice would sync in a more realistic way

It will enable people to make videos that wouldn’t have made videos before so yes, it’s a cool technology.

I create Environmental Health & Safety learning and many times the AI is unable to pronounce the standard equipment or processes. Sometimes coming up with multiple different pronunciations for the same term. It’s a better product than the vast majority of AI products out and the language packs are impressive.
For generic use, it can be very good solution.

The voice sounds like AI to me. Maybe the latest text to speech programs like Talkia are better (haven't checked them out yet).

I think this will work very well even though lip synic is off just a fraction. i don't think people would mind that much
