I've sufferef from these for years but getting it treated is impossible with my budget 😕 but I realize leaving it alone or trying to Clip the nail away(if it's not severe) helps. though does dipping the toe in warm water help?
my right toenail is very inflamed but from a wound/puncture and I've been told warm water helps?

Alone in my room the endless pain by a ingrown toenail tosses and turns tries to fall asleep Accidentally hit my ingrown toenail against the wall Now it's unbearable on the inside I Cry and scream try not to wake up my parents on the other side I go to my father's Garage and grab the pliers 2 hours later silently crying while biting on a dirty sock in the bathroom has my feet curl up of the amount of pressure being Ripped away...

I get a nail drill.And just file down the sharp edges of the toenails! Just round them off, they won't Ingrow again because they're smoothed off and no spurs (ingrown toenail) can grow!
Also trim the skin under the nail. Sometimes that can create sharp edges. UK 🇬🇧

I had an ingrown like this as a teen because my nail fully curled at the corner and I trimmed the nail but didn’t know I missed a bit. The doctor showed me to use a little bit of a cotton ball to do this after soaking my foot in warm water with a small amount of bleach (capful in a bucket of water). Soaking makes it easier to get under the nail and the bleach can help with the infection.
