Utter bs. The ecig was invented by a pharmacist, Hon Lik, in 2003 after he watched his father die from lung cancer d/t smoking and realized he was next, having smoked for >25yrs already, himself. Within a few yrs, this and other rudimentary commercial devices (not sold by tobacco companies) spawned a massive, global DIY community of vapers that developed and improved upon the idea, making both more effective, satisfying devices and literally millions of amazing flavors. This community developed into the independent vapor industry, relying on Asian microelectronics firms to supply the bulk of devices, manufacturing the eliquids and high-end devices, domestically, creating thousands of small and micro manufacturing businesses and nationwide networks of retail vapes shops, that offered a class of highly adjustable devices, a wide range of amazing flavors in nicotine levels that span the human requirement for cessation, creating a product that could be tailored in every aspect of cessation required by any one of the >1 billion who are smoking and dying. Sold in vape shops started and staffed by folks who successfully quit smoking w vaping. In a few short years independent vapor had developed and improved the product class to the point it became both the most effective and popular means of smoking cessation and began to noticably impact both global smoking rates and tobacco sales. THEN, a few tobacco companies tried to enter the market w crude, pre-filled tobacco, or menthol-flavored devices that failed to generate much interest and quickly dissappeared. The first decent selller was probably the vuse, but that was much later, in 2014. All the while, independent vapor and vape shops were helping millions to quit. Gas station vapes by big tobacco did little more than expose massive number of people who smoked to the potential of vaping, many whom then sought out vape shops. Shops that sell only independent vapor products, NEVER big tobacco, as most were owned by former smokers. JUUL became a cross-over and game-changer in 2015. It employed a diff form of nicotine that allowed higher concentrations that could be vaped from a small, lower-power device and still be enjoyable. It was also highly effective cessation for older, longer-term and heavier smokers who required higher nicotine levels to successfully quit. Both independent vapor and big tobacco adopted this form of nicotine and developed appropriate devices. Independent vapor devices being refillable, adjustable and the liquid in millions of amazing flavors and variable nicotine levels, tailorable to the individuals' needs. Big T devices, still pre-filled carts in tobacco and menthol and only in the highest nic level people can comfortably vape. This show is mostly bs. BUT, what is true, is that fda required every product apply for a PMTA as of 2016. Independent vapor submitted over 4 million PMTA's, Big T a few dozen. Fda then blanket denied 100% of the independent vapor products that helped millions to quit for 20 years, approving only 23 products, all owned by Big T. Yep, fda is currently in the process of bankrupting tbousands of small businesses owned by ex-smokers, by banning the products that have helped million to quit smoking and handed the current 18-20 million US vapers (80 million worldwide, btw) over to Big Tobacco and a handful of products that don't help people to quit smoking. That's the REAL story of the electronic cigarette and it's worth contrasting US treatment of vaping with that of NZ, CA abd especially the UK, where their national health service works w independent vapor, has kept big tobacco and pharma out, encourages smokers to vape and is currently giving 1 million of their 3 million smokers, free vaping starter kits, offering pregnant women an additional £400 to buy vaping supplies with. Everything US media spews about vaping is utter nonsense. Fear and lies to sell advertizing.

I started smoking at 13 and right through university. After meeting my gf at 21, I went onto a vape and haven’t bought a pack of cigs for 2 years. Might have had the occasional one whilst a little intoxicated but I don’t wake up and crave a cig anymore thanks to vaping. I’m now 23 and can breathe again.

Vaping is not good for you as well as smoking.

I want to know the NUMBER VALUE that this cigarette company is actually putting in to make these healthier. And how. Is it becoming safer? Or is it just all show for the camera?

If you are not a smoker do not even try vaping. But if you do smoke and would like to quit then vaping is an option for you to quit smoking.

Did that radio DeeJay really throw his ciggarette on the ground where he works, WHERE NO smoking allowed? WOW!

All I know is that I was smoking a pack or 2 a day and felt like GARBAGE— couldn’t breath, nose was always stuffed up, my throat was always sore. You kinda get used to these symptoms when you smoke long term, but it wasn’t until I started to vape for a couple weeks that I noticed just how TERRIBLE the cigarettes were for me. Vaping might not be totally safe, but here are some FACTS— I can breath easier (and exercise longer), my sense of smell and taste have become MUCH better, my nose isn’t always clogged up, and I don’t smell like an ash tray anymore.

If you’ve never done either (smoking or vaping), you should obviously NEVER do EITHER of them… but if you’re helplessly addicted to cigs, vaping is 1000% better. I’m going to ween myself off the nicotine and kick it for good!!

Crazy to learn vaping is the tobacco equivalent of smoking crack

Had my first cigarette at 15 and was hooked ever since, when I turned 19-20 I woke up every day wheezing, getting out of breath just going up stairs. I bought a vape kit and just after the first 6 months I noticed an improvement in my lungs, no more wheezing and felt more clear. Listen I'm not saying it's safe because who knows. But I'd rather take my chances here than with a cigarette with 7,000 chemicals in it. This is truly a revolution to big tobacco corpos and i'm loving every second of it.

Its working for me .I smoked 20 a day from 1979 until March 2022 . Used nicotine vapes for 2 months then the same flavours with no nicotine for a month . Nothing at all after June . Doing great
