I think it's common for a lot of Europeans to pronounce it like that. Most of the bands I listen to are European and most of the time when "iron" comes up they say it the same way.

Honestly, even though I'm a native English-speaker, this is how I feel about a lot of English words I first hear (or read) in Japanese because they somehow flew under my radar all my life prior. For example, I first heard "homonculus" in Fullmetal Alchemist, and rather than say it as "hah-muhn-kyoo-lahs", it's more like ホモンクルス "ho-mohn-koo-loos" (I'm no expert on transcribing dictionary pronunciations, but I hope that made sense).

There's also a few words that I first encountered in hentai (I'm dead serious). Like フェラチオ "ferachio" (took me a while to realize that it's said in English using a long A sound).

In Kiara's defense, iron was pronounced more like she's saying it centuries ago but probably got lazily butchered over time into eye-urn because it was hard to say. At least that's what happened with the word Knight.
