This tournament has been really fun to watch despite it not going your way because it is very encouraging to see you being challenged with stuff you are uncomfortable with and overcome it. Very tough games and it was such an amazing and brave decision from you to make the queen sacrifice to find the only way to win the game. I hope rest of your tournament will go well. P.S.- Try not to bring the knights back lol. You put them in strong positions and I think it can help to be a little brave and seize control with them.

An in-form Levy would have seen g5 (after black's Rd8) in a blitz game.
Levy is usually very sharp with those kind of tactics.
In this tourney he is not as sharp as he usually is. He misses too many things both tactically and positionally.
However, the good news are, that despite that, his overall level here is still decent, and he doesn't get depressed or pressured from his off-form level, and doesn't spiral into "I'm playing terrible and should retire chess" anymore, as it was the case in the previous road-to-GM round.

Engines gotten so good that the eval has started to become meaningless sometimes.

There’s a big pattern with 75% of Gothams games. 1st he gets a better position from opening prep. 2nd he makes a bad move or 2 in the middle game to lose the advantage. Then lastly, he capitalizes on a nice idea in the endgame to secure either a win or draw
