I'm saving up for the 16 inch model.
ОтветитьCurrently using this video to go replace my intel 11th gen board to an intel 13th gen board.
ОтветитьNow imagine the framework 16 had a socketed cpu
Ответитьyessss YESSS
ОтветитьCan Framework handle AutoCAD?
ОтветитьThe only reason why I'm not a buyer of their laptops is that they don't have big screens options. I want the same, with a 17" display and SATA ports... 😭
ОтветитьFramework seems to be a very promising enterprise. I wanna see them tackle rugged laptops.
ОтветитьPlease make it available everywhere in retails . I cant buy this laptop even though i love it so much because of non availability
ОтветитьI would love to see a slow close up video of the installation and removal of the WiFi card,as it looks a bit tricky with the awkwardness of attaching the wires.
Sam.
even LTT has invested to that company. Framework is on the right track to become the best Laptop manufacturer.
Ответитьabsolutely not wanna see something like that. i wanna see upagradable PCs without replacing the whole motherboard
ОтветитьAwesome walk through and analysis
ОтветитьFramework should make a fully modular gaming laptop next.
ОтветитьI want this right now! 🤯
ОтветитьHow much its costed u to replace mother board???
Ответить👍
ОтветитьStuff like this is why I wanna pre-order a Framework laptop when I get the option to do so!
ОтветитьDelicious
ОтветитьHey, I have Macbook 14inch. I have questions. Too much much dusty keep surrounding my Macbook and I assume also that it goes inside as well. Could you please recommend what can do to protect my Mac from the dust. Thanks
ОтветитьI wish they delivered in Denmark 😔 will wait until then do
ОтветитьThe whole laptop is amazingly well built, but the magnetic bezel is what got me. Such simplicity. The framework laptop is the most eco-friendly purchase anyone can make, it can last for decades with that upgradeability/repairability.
Ответитьdo they have AMD models ?
ОтветитьWhat I like even more is that you can take that old Mobo, screw it into a 3D printed frame and basically assemble a small desktop!
ОтветитьIs the laptop really upgradeable if you're swapping the motherboard?
ОтветитьI’m gonna buy one of these to replace my 2013 MacBook Pro at some point
ОтветитьWay not power it on?
ОтветитьAbsolute beauty
ОтветитьWish this was available in Guatemala :(
ОтветитьIs it possible to replace CPU and/or GPU separately? Or shall you replace just the entire motherboard? Nice video in all case, This Laptop is the future. A gaming edition would be insane
ОтветитьI hope they also add the option of adding a dedicated GPU to the main board at least for those who want to do some light to medium gaming or doing some graphically intensive tasks.
ОтветитьGlad to see this video. Couldn't really understand what Linus was doing at LTT and was genuinely concerned. But this clears that. Thanks mate ~
ОтветитьAnd with old mainboard? Looks not too green.
ОтветитьThe upgradability of this laptop appears to about as good as it gets. None of my previous laptops could have their cpus upgraded. The long term cost of a Framework laptop is probably a lot less than buying new laptops in order to upgrade the CPU. My next laptop will probably be a Framework.
ОтветитьWow. This is incredible. I’ve done a handful of laptop screen and SSD upgrades, so I understand that while those are simple, they can be daunting to people who aren’t good with tech. It wouldn’t be easy still, but this is significantly easier to follow for both regular people and tech people
ОтветитьInstead of having to buy a complete Mainboard, how about they just give the Thing a CPU socket. Would be about, what 70% Cheaper?
ОтветитьThe future is now old man
ОтветитьI will absolutely be upgrading whenever Framework and AMD work together to offer a Ryzen processor with RDNA3/4 graphics. Until then, I'm very happy with my 11th gen i5!
ОтветитьIf you can't change the CPU without losing the motherboard, it still worst than Gen 2 I core mobile Intel CPU..... We need gen 2 I core mobile CPU on laptop form factors.. We can change everything... Produce less waste..
ОтветитьStill waiting for AMD version of this machine, WILL buy one when this happens. Not that I am a fan boy, its mainly because I want the battery life that it can offer while still getting great performance.
ОтветитьAwesome company! If they released a 15" version with a matte display I'd be all over it.
(also if they refined the trackpad and a few other things it would be nearly perfect)
Great video, what is the tool do you use for remove flex cables? thanks
ОтветитьI still use an aluminium Mac Book that has a lever locked lid to a removable battery and hard drive. When it dies in 10-20 years next LT will be a Framework.
ОтветитьThey day they release Ryzen for the Framework, I’ll be first in line to buy one.
ОтветитьFor the price of 1 framework(10~years life max), I can buy 2(or maybe 3) nice beast laptops(5+ years life max). Its equal maths.
ОтветитьI purchased two Framework laptops in the spring. So happy I did. Great company doing great work towards designing a solid laptop that can be upgraded. I saw Linus did a similar video, and the old Motherboard was able to be re-purposed into a Desktop sort of system. Very cool!
ОтветитьThree thumbs up!
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьThis is an excellent concept. This would make upgrading a laptop more like a desktop, just open and replace, easy as pie. Only issue for the moment is that it is only one brand doing it, but, if it catches on, it would be awesome (and cost affordable!) to just buy components, like a desktop, when something doesn't work anymore, instead of shelling out a ton of money for a brand new laptop.
