If you put the base 11 blocks in the air would they still go into the destroy area mode on the melee build?

Can i place some traps in the first horde base? Like wood traps, electrical cables or the rotating blades? Maybe at the base of the pillars to prevent them to destroy or maybe on the ground where they fall from the hole, to kill some of them? Or it will obstacle the infinite loop?
And about the final platform where you must stay, can i make walls and roof like a room? Or zombies will not see me and will break all?

Nice vid. Don't know what I did wrong, but I copied the first one exactly step by step and the zombies still will hit on the first block at level 2 just after coming up the stairs. They keep working on that level and then level 1 until they can get back further by me.

This base has a nice thought behind it, BUT in execution its a pile of dog shit. The zombies target the platform you stand on and you fall down and have to run for your life, id say just put in more time in a bigger better safer one

I made this last night for me and my mate but I found that horde night 3, they were attacking the pillars for some reason. Did I possibly make it too long as I couldn't grasp the block length from the stairs to the drop. Did I make it too long, I also made it one block taller by accident, Do you have any advice please?

what if your corridor is taller than 11 blocks so they fall out of the range?

Has this changed? I noticed that my corridor was attached to my base and now they go to the "shortest path" and ignore the corridor and attack a door on the far side of my base.

nerds cheese game and devs run out of coke money and de-cheese the nerds. meanwhile the game still sucks like always. war never changes.

Tried this today on Alpha 21.0 - Did not work, They stacked upon each other and ended up climbing over the sides of the pit fall. I think building that up would be beneficial. I also had the acid spitting zombies and birds wreck me. Day 28. Going to try again but may look at some other builds. Easy concept though!

Do this ones work at higher lvls? I am currently around 60+

testing with 6 same zombies is not accurate, during blood you have many more Z with species, like Cop, dog, boomer etc... you will have many surprise !

nice design, used the end result one with pillars, put 2 pillars on the either side of the top step block and put 2 robotic sludges on those, basic wood spikes surrounding bottom and afk on day 14 horde...day 21 horde ill have working blade traps then and will likely afk it as well

Seems like great combination would be hatch hallway with a fighting position at the front, then do skinny block out front, and make it all 11-12 blocks up so after they fall they dont do destory area.

As someone making their first horde base and not experienced at building, you skipping through building steps was really frustrating to follow along (like the wedges to make them fall down, not saying how many we were placing, the space between pillars, stuff like that was difficult for me as a new player to follow along

anyway to make a horde base with a way to collect loot as the horde is going?

Cheese base? That's the best base I've ever seen! Thanks for the idea. Why not put some traps below the fall area? But such a simple zombie grinder. Love it.

No variation on this design works for me. A21 b324 they always attack the supports no matter what. :/

Surprised you don't use haybales to catch falling zombies and prevent Destroy Everything.

You say at start of video for new people to game.. then proceed to shoot wood on ground and build right away. Lost me completely with that Aussie accent. Trying to learn.

These are great traps to survive the hordes. But to me it feels a bit cheaty as it makes it almost too easy. Maybe not in later end game but...

I followed the video exactly. And first horde night didn’t go as planned. No zombies pathed and instead attacked supports under me. Any ideas on what went wrong?

I find these type of horde bases kind of boring. I prefer the challenge of fortifying a poi.

What about dealing with zombie vultures for the first base (on Day 14 and beyond)? You have no protection against it.
Unless you take the idea of the melee base to make a fort around you and have the spikes to kill off the vultures.

just watch the devs patch the 11 blocks away from drop soon. Devs are too focused on changing systems like skills, crafting ect when they are not too busy making every horde base work less and less.

Thank you for the video. Been watching a few different series and playing a few starts - last start was wasteland biome and end up getting demolishers on day 14 - was doing a elevated hatch base, but without steel it was not good. Probably need to go to the killing corridor.

Jay, generally, I find you annoying, but this video was pretty good.

On the hatch base with the centered pole, they’re more likely to fall off. Wouldn’t that end up being more destructive to the overall base with the destroy area thing? Would it not be better to put a normal block so you can contain them in front of you instead of continuously falling?

Hey JaWoodle. First off, as a brand new 7 Days player, your tutorials are very thorough and helpful, so thank you. Also, (hope these aren't dumb questions) I have OCD and shit. Just wondering where i could put all my stuff. Like set up a bedroll, chests, forge, campfires, workbench, etc. Can i just tag all of those up along the corrider base, or the hatch base? Or do i need a seperate base for the other 6 days to use as my reg base. Just curious, and thanks for the tips! Keep it up
