I grew up in a small town. I watched as business moved and and were closed down because they competed with local business or because they were from out of town. The only business left in that town is the electric plant, Walmart, the schools, and city hall. Houses are falling in on themselves on the main road and only a couple of smaller business are left. A pizza place, a motel, and a couple gas stations. I seen this sort of thing happen.

The building of the cement factory caused marvins sewer and water to be cut off due to how the city water/sewer ran adjacent to marvins driveway.. they cut his water and sewer and then charged him for it..then tried to evict him

The bulldozer fit perfectly into the garage door. With about no room for error. Pulling out, he ofc just drove right threw the wall.

I also watched the documentary, it starts out on Marvin's side and about 30 minutes in, it switches and you see the true intentions. The guy who is the author of the book knew Marvin, in fact Marvin, talked about him and called him a liar. He was also the person to create the infamous black and white photo of Marvin. He made a great documentary and Marvin honestly had an out. Sold the place for 400k and rented the back place for his project. Also interviews people like the cement brothers, sheriff people at that time, people who Marvin actually hated. In the end I see an extremely broken man. It's quite sad to think the town still relatively hates him, even tho he brought the town lots of money. And new buildings to be built and someone with a name.

Also this was on national news for 1 single day cause the following day, June 5th 2004 Ronald Reagan passed away. I believe the national media could've uncovered a lot. This isn't talked about as much, as I found out watching the documentary.
