I HATE movies with DA MESSAQGE, but this is not that movie - instead, it's a GREAT aviation movie.

I just read the book this is based on, what an incredible story, so glad it’s being honored with a movie

Good to hear there's a book about Jesse Brown - will be looking out for it!

Read the book before watching the movie. As is usually the case, the book is so much better. The movie leaves out a lot of background about Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner’s background. Their experiences couldn’t have been any more different. Tom a white upper class academy grad from Massachusetts who went to boarding school with H.W. Bush and many other notable people and Jesse Brown, the son of sharecroppers born and raised near Hattiesburg, MS. It’s amazing what Jesse had to overcome but broke through so many barriers. His faith, courage, and devotion to his wife are so admirable and inspiring. I felt like the movie
minimized how inspiring he was to the other black naval cadets as well. I don’t want to completely bash the movie. It was good but the book was so much better!

Jesse LeRoy Brown got shot down and died. Serves him right for getting involved in a civil war.
