2021 VW Caddy van Mk5 review - our first thoughts | Wolfsburg Vans

Hi. can I get your opinion on which alloys look best on the mk5? The caddy mk5 I have ordered for ‘24 will come standard with the 16” Vienna alloys but does have the €555 option of the 17” barahona alloys. Leaving price aside which in your opinion looks better? By the way the van colour will be reflex silver. Thank you.

Suspension on mk 4 is bone shaking standard hi line on the mk 5 it's not like golf car it's still bumpy like and the seats are like a wooden bench

It's garbage l have 1 2008 caddy end l update too the 2022 model it's horrible too turn lights off without removing the key you need push 3 buttons too start ac 6 freaking buttons suspension it's like a brick the paint end the finish just poor end first oil change with filter 164 euro on dealership am driving the 2008 model with 308.000 km end it's much more relaxing car l making around 400km per day

Too much tech , keep it simple . I’m sticking with my 14 plate caddy 1.6 and this one has had 4 injectors at 20k ( under warranty ) ffs

Does the new Caddy 5 not have front fog lights, I have only seen them in the european models,

Vw have made huge cost cutting on the production of the mk5.. and increased the rrp of the base models across the range...shame as it will not sell as good as the much better looking mk 4.

I don't think putting the air con controls on touch screen is good thing on a van my father has lexus with this type of control and its a pain to use when on the move. Trades people often have dirty hands when driving vans touch screens don't react well with this. I have current model highline with dsg I will stick with it also prefer its looks

I have had a number of caddies over the years, fantastic Vans. But for me the new caddy has lost its appeal.

There is no doubt that the inside of the van, with all the new tech is fantastic. But there are so many things on the new van that for me, is a step backwards.

Inside they have done away with the overhead storage bin, ridiculous. On the outside of the van, what on earth is that exposed side door rail about? It stands proud of the van and there is no way of hiding it away with a rail cover. With the side of the Vans, the panel looks like something off of an old van. With the older Vans with the nice flush sides, it gave you a fantastic platform for signwriting or if you just wanted to leave it unsign written, you had a side of the van that looked flawless.

At the end of 2020 I wanted to buy a new caddy. I knew the 2021 model was coming out and disliked it so much, I brought a six month old highline. That tells you everything.

This is just not a pretty van anymore. Very disappointed in VW

The Citroen Berlingo is the better van by far. I was in both the new Caddy and Berlingo recently, drove both extensively and the Citroen wins hands down. Far more clever touches, better standard kit, 3 seats, nicer engine and much cheaper.
