Distrokid is JUST as bad, lying and saying Spotify is flagging you for fake streams when it's really them doing it to steal restoration money after taking your songs down

Tunecore is believe distribution and they suck nowdays. A middle sized label of a friend of mine, who were in partnership with them for 8 years. They accused him of fraudulent streams which he never did, instead of cleaning the situation, they kicked him and almost 100 releases out, instead of stepping towards him and try to clarify the issue (he had proof he never would do stuff like that and never did). Believe and tunecore sucks balls stay away from them

How do you know that it was actually Grimes that accepted and not part of the scam to draw you in?

had an agency try to do this, we went to the better business bureau (and 3 other places who advised us we did have a strong case and to get a lawyer). we told them what the people said and they changed their tune quick. business will do it unless you threaten them…

Yeah me too, tunecore was my first distributor, and when I started using it this summer, it showed that we can have access to Spotify for artists and Apple music artists too, but then I see only an icon on the dashboard for Apple music, a huge bug，i had to contact Spotify supports and get it myself ( by the way, Spotify supports are very efficient and helpful.) Then months later, I was trying to re-release a track( released before on a small service) I got this rejection too! For no reason! . Plus, tunecore doesn't allow all lowercase titles!!! If you are some kinda alternative indie musician that want to use lowercase, tunecore is not your choice

I don't understand why some distributors have many differences in formalities, some don't allow you to use all capital letters (tunecore), others don't allow collaborations, others charge you for USRC (cd baby), some seem to have a judge who decides if your music it comes out or not (tunecore, routenote), some that because it says something on the cover then the title cannot be that way (amuse)... other distributors where your other artist does not need to pay to receive royalties, just by having a free account(amuse) (pay: distrokid, tunecore)

Sometimes I come across songs and covers that seem to be really a meme and they are not even songs, they are joke audios and they are in stores, or on Instagram/Facebook, how will they do it? What will they use?

Is the paid version of Distrokid the distributor that an artist could have the least problems with?

I use routenote but I am dissatisfied because according to them I use samples and all my official songs, not bootlegs, are my own sounds, therefore my songs are not there on Instagram or content ID things, in another scenario I use Amuse where the only problem I had was that on a cover it said feat, therefore they left my other artist as a collaborator, not as a main artist, therefore in their profiles in the stores the song does not appear as his too, the solution they said was that instead of feat, it has to be an X

similar happend to me exept that twitter x scammed me on there api. It dident work and they dident refund me even after 2 + months of fighting for it. and its an 150$s api :(
Gave up after a while, and made a free bot that i uploaded for everyone to use instead of there shit api.

We need to bring back real record distributors and vinyl record shops. The online model is all about Facebook postings. Something you can do yourself and get monetised for doing so.

How are they getting away with this? If they were a UK firm, they'd be investigated by regulators and shut down. A classic scam, a smokescreen of lies and fake reviews. Not to mention laughing in the face of small indie artists.

I had a REALLY bad experience with TuneCore, so I made it a point to find their headquarters (as I live in New York). I found the office, knocked on the door, made a stink, and the issue was fixed an hour later. It was the only way I was gonna get the problem fixed😂
