I broke the Great Qing in Hoi4... (Great War Redux)

What I said at the end of the video is basically me saying that the GWR saga will be discontinued.

The mod makers seem to want to make a totally historical mod which, by as you saw in this video, involves nerfing pretty much everything non historical. For example, features such as an unavoidable Ottoman surrender countdown, and an impossible to beat Xinhai Revolution could all be coming soon. TLDR, this mod will soon become unplayable/close to unplayable unless you are the Entente. I’ve already gotten comments saying what I did in the Ottoman video is now longer possible (sultan path removed, starting factories nerfed etc). Alt history paths tend to be the fun and interesting ones and if these are made impossible then there will likely be no more GWR videos for now. Hope y’all’s enjoyed watching while it lasted, and make sure to play before your favorite strategy gets nerfed!

Just an fyi, it already took me 3 tries to crush the revolution before the rest of the country rebelled so be aware of inconsistencies even on the current patch

People, learn to play the mod, or play it on the lower difficulty, because this is not vanilla, it’s a ww1 mod with accurate high quality content about the period, which devs put a lot of effort into. If you want to do world conquest, play any other ww1 mod that provides such type of gameplay, TGWR is not about it

It kinda makes me sad to see how poorly the developers of this mod are handling it. by nerfing the non historical parts of the focus tree and making them needlessly difficult it is going to kill the lifespan of this mod

i really hate when a mod made just play historical like im here to change the history but noo u cant do that i was love this mod but now every update scares me lol

Great video, love it. I agree with you about the balancing of the mod, I get it why it should be harder to Austria-Hungary than the US. But if the nerfing is too harsh, it's not fun anymore. I really wish the devs reverse some of their nerfing !

I am the Community Team Manager in the HoM server, and hosted the GWR on 3 different occasions, first two times were fine but the third time? We were in in perpetual trench warfare for like the entire war, it was painful and it stretched to 1919 and nearly 1920 but the German Player surrendered in December. This mod is fun and well made usually but there are too many buffs and debuffs when fighting and in MP where everyone is more competent than AI it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to actually break through, it took me turning off the AI of Italy after the player left to help end the war.
But I suggest playing the Qing Submod, it allows you to avoid the Revolution and do some pretty powerful things

RIP howitzers. I remember using them a lot as the Ottomans.

I personally as the Qing, build a fort on what is effectively every border, amass the most unnecessarily large army, and grind everyone’s recourses and MP

use the qing sub mod for the great war redux makes the qing experience way better
