Smoke line ups have never really proven to be any more effective than throwing the smokes once you're already close up, if anything this just gives away positioning and is used better for faking.

Good job. Next step: learn callouts. What you call "Hut" is "Mini" or sometimes "Main". At least that's what the signage on the map tells us. The actual "hut" is the little tin-walled "hut" that leads from lobby onto A.

Thats not hut, thats mini, also the better smoke is near red on your side to cover the cross. You want to contest outside, not sneak by.

If I get someone like this in my games I'll 100% drop them a smoke, but my team mates never do so it doesn't really work so well lol

FYI there is a difference between cover and concealment

Cover =/= concealment. You can still be shot crossing over smokes if they spray the smokes.

We dont throw smokes because even when we do no one seems to understand what to do once the smokes are out
