Cool truck, too bad the dude smoke's a little too much tina.
ОтветитьI have done a fair amount of business with Boyce and they are top notch people to work with. They will treat you right.
ОтветитьThis dude is on uppers
Ответитьcivilians looking at a deuce and a half or 5-ton for off-roading: "sweet"
former military guys remembering 8 hour convoys on rough roads: "never again"
I love this!! but... Colorado is not going to let you register this for street use :( but certain states with an LLC up there will (cough cough Montana)
ОтветитьIt's nice to see someone like this refreshing these old military units and offering a heavy duty cheap option versus paying stupid money for a new pickup. I've been pricing out a Ram 5500 or even a Chevy Kodiak 4500 with a dump bed. Or possibly even a rollback flat bed as a possible future investment. I should save the website for these guys instead and get something like this. I could probably get two of these things in two different configurations for less than a new one in one configuration. :)
ОтветитьIn 1989 I drove a deuce and a half down a mountain road in Korea with no breaks! I engine breaked the whole way down...Thought several times that the engine would blow but she held together until I made it to the bottom of the mountain and could pull over. That was a nerve wracking 15 minutes!
ОтветитьI ain't know Utah had it like that
ОтветитьAbout 15 years ago you could buy these surplus 2.5 and 5 ton trucks in good running condition for $3k to $6k. But back then I couldn't afford one. Now I can afford that price, but they've all been sold off and now you have to pay an arm and a leg for these "restored" ones.
ОтветитьWow, Tommy, what an incredible idea! These are great trucks, nice that they can be resurrected, you're not likely to see many others on the road!
ОтветитьWhat a great project! Very exciting. I’ll be following closely.
ОтветитьI almost didn’t watch this episode, and that would have been a huge mistake! Great vid, Tommy! 👍( now I want a 2.5 like you guys are getting 😂)
ОтветитьOooh No!🙏😅😅
ОтветитьThe HC250 is a dog because it is NA. That said if you keep it running and you don't run it high in the RPM all of the time they are bulletproof. I'd never bob one, I'd leave it as a 6×4.
ОтветитьWild when you consider a brand new base model 1500 is like $40k
ОтветитьThis is an AWESOME TRUCK !!!! Yay Andrey for buying this! It can go anywhere. It is also big enough to put a custom camper on back that has EVERYTHING you need for travelling in high style (aka Glamping!) For about $15,000 you hire someone to weld a custom camper frame out of 6061 Aluminum Box frame with 3/16th inch thick aluminum sheet on the entire outside and fully sprayed inside and out with Line-X UV resistant version truck bed liner coating in any colour you want. After that frame-build, you and your family can do a multi-Weekend project to outfit the inside with full -40C winter-rated insulation (I would use Rockwool!) and modern camping gear!
Put in a combo hot-water Toilet/Shower, Coleman 4-burner propane cooktop, king-size bed up top/front with Ikea Foam mattress (VERY comfortable!). Then add in retractable dining table and seating with cushions. Put in dimmable LED lighting in Red (i.e. to save your nightsight under dark conditions!) and bright white.
A nice combo fridge/freezer, hot-water sink and a large fresh water tank and blackwater tank, a well-insulated 5000 watt propane generator, a 3000 watt Li-Ion battery pack with rooftop solar panels for off-grid electricity, two of the 100 lbs propane tanks for fuel storage, multiple electric ceramic space heaters, huge air conditioning unit. Add in Starlink internet, 65 inch OLED TV, small form factor ruggedized industrial Windows 11 computer, playstation/xbox consoles and put in a touchscreen AM/FM/DAB infotainment/navigation system, a combo VHF/Shortwave/CB/FMRS/FPRS radio transceiver console. Put in lots of storage cubbyholes and use every cubic inch of space to store something or for putting in some more camping-comfort items and goods Do all this and you are SET for awesome OFF-ROAD GLAMPING!
This could be an AWESOME custom camper project vehicle!

Did he got paid for advertising that ONLY company....... POS
Ответитьأتمنى أن لا تموتوا إلا على دين الثالوث الإلحاد .
اما انا انطق الشهادتين الإسلامية 🔪🔪 أشهد أن لا اله إلا الله واشهد ان محمد رسول الله .
the issue with military trucks like this is the lack of comfort, tech and safety. too big for daily use (city driving, shops, garage under apartments). parts maybe rare (truck is usually discontinued) and needs specialized mechanics/service centers which are not available everywhere. some offroad areas/tracks, national parks and rv parks will not allow vehichle of this size and weight. more practical option would be something like hino 300 4x4 or isuzu n-series 4x4, still get 6.5 tonne payload and 3.5 tonne towing while being easier to drive in the city.
ОтветитьThats a little 😮""MUCH"" YA Think Lol, it 😊Work 4 CLearing Out gggGov.
ОтветитьDam tires are 500 a piece and you got 10 of them !
ОтветитьWatch the prices go up after the "tiny amount of money" comment and the rise in orders due to all the exposure. This was my plan before they even thought of doing this video.
ОтветитьWhy is he yelling the whole time
ОтветитьKeep it a 6x6!!!!
ОтветитьI think he was trying to put himself in a headlock
ОтветитьI thought it was going to be a HMMWV
Ответить- tow rope tig of war challenge
- take them and do tractor pulls somewhere.
The guy that works for them is loud . Not headphones friendly
ОтветитьWould they put a small camper on one?
ОтветитьThe paint on these trucks look better than on my JK Wrangler Jeep ! ! !
ОтветитьYes, Yes and Yes
ОтветитьA bobbed deuce or 5 ton is like a declawed lion. It's just a sad thing to see. I've seen a bobbed deuce struggle to climb a small embankment because all the weight is up front and as soon as you try to head up a hill you lose traction in the worst ways. Don't get me wrong they look awesome but you have killed off all the things they are good at for the sake of making them look like a big Tonka truck. I love my m35a2 and I'll never chop his nuts off and make him a pavement queen. If I could have I would have got an m36a2 and doubled the cab while dropping on the a3 drop side bed for a crew cab with the full 12ft bed. That's the ultimate deuce in my mind.
ОтветитьWay better than a modern pick up and more reliable
ОтветитьI like how Tommy is amazed at the price and forgets its military surplus that even brand new barely gets out of its own way and struggles to maintain 55mph. Some of the larger farms up in Idaho switched to using surplus trucks for getting spuds and sugar beets out of the field, screaming for all they are worth for miles to get up to 40mph. Yeah they will go anywhere as long as you have a week to get there.
ОтветитьSorry but this is dumb. I don’t want to see videos of completely impractical vehicles.
ОтветитьStill trying to figure out which of these two dudes is the weirdest
ОтветитьHaven't finished watching yet but FYI bob the rear = no CDL needed.
ОтветитьNeed to talk to @EdisonMotors and do an electric and diesel swap.
Your welcome for the content
I cant wait for this project to be done.
ОтветитьI was mobile radar in the USAF, we drove deuces, 5-tons, and HUMVEEs. Having a 4x4 5-ton refreshed with some modern goodies would be cool AF. Even better, a quad cab 4x4 5-ton.
ОтветитьSo lame just teach the camera staff how to drive stick. You could even make a video series about it. I’m sick of boring vehicles because of staff not being to drive properly.
Ответить⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ОтветитьDrove a 5 ton from Gieblestadt Germany to Tuzla, Bosnia in 1997. 2 days. 14 hour days. 2nd day was with a blown seal, blowing black smoke. By the time we got to Tuzla Main, the power was so low, it could barely get over a speed bump. Dubbed "the Crippled Chicken".
ОтветитьWhat a great business. Guy sounds like he loves what he does 👍🏼.
ОтветитьThis would make a great hybrid - for a lot of money. You have a powerplant on-board already.
ОтветитьOooh I can already tell this is going to be a cool series. You guys are going to be off-roading it right?? I'm sure it'll take on the pond course LOL. Just don't get it stuck because that'll be a bear to get unstuck. Maybe spec it with two winches (front and back), lockers, and a Jake Brake (for Andre when he inevitably Ikes it). Cool guys, keep the videos coming!
ОтветитьI could spend days in that yard.
ОтветитьDo you need to get a CDL to drive these trucks?
