I’m from the south and those guys are a different breed of country than even I’m used to.

This whole sport was started when one farmer said to another “my tractor can pull more than yours” And the rest was history.

I don't understand their English it's too hard😂

My biggest question was why they dont use much tread on the tires. Im glad he explained that. And this and other things you can do in the south is why I love being a Mississippi redneck.

One thing I don't understand. When does the distance count start? The second the tractor starts moving? when the weights on the sled start moving? or when the sled hits the ground?

I just stumbeld over this Video, while in my evening yt time, and this made me feel so comfortable. Such an interesting community and people, and I get to explore their hobby and culture if you will through your eyes while being on another continent. And educanional on top! Thank you so much.
It kind of took me back when i was younger and we had these huge bonfires in the summer in my hometown, similar summer evening, cool people and not a worry in the world vibes.

This was fun to watch.

😁My dad used to work at Ford Tractor & Implement and always had the inside scoop on when and where there would be pulls around us. The old timers would back their pickups into the ditch, against the fence and set up their lawn chairs in the bed. The drink of choice was a quart bottle of coke with a few inches poured off the trop and backfilled with bourbon.

If these people are dumb Rednecks, then when I grow up, I want to be a dumb Redneck.

Wait, do ya’ll just run tractors in the south? In New York they run tractors like that, but also modified tractors, with multiple engines, sometimes even jet engines. The also run trucks which are super load. My nephews have won the truck pull championships

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area but have been living in Alabama for 15 years now. The people in the video are just like there people I work with and see every day. That southern humor and hospitality. Salt of the earth people. I'm glad people from all walks of life can experience this little piece of it.

It's so funny listening to someone explaining the engineering mechanics of a pulling tractor in a hard country accent.😂

As someone who grew up watching tractor pulling this episode made me smile. And I am from California. There are a few rednecks out on the west coast. 😊

I always thought the sleds get heavier by gathering dirt as their pulled. I'm glad I got smarter today.

I guess metal wheels that can dig a few feet under ground, are probably illegal. That would exceed the sled sheer.

where i live they use gps for messurement. this allows to display the current speed to, because its messuring every few miliseconds.

I wanna see a pull on a concrete track. All things being equal, its still friction against friction.

Argentine here: although we don't have that sport here, I'm sending a couple of comments:
1- I want... no, ..... I NEED the shirt that simulates low pants.
2- I didn't know anything about the engineering of the sled, I assumed it was just a lot of weight that had to be dragged.
3- The drivers' handling of tactics is impressive, the concepts of statics and dynamics to take into account are much superior to what I assumed.
