Doesn’t work
Excellent tips and loving your app as well. Thanks for posting!
ОтветитьThanks! These are great tips!
ОтветитьAmazing tips 👌
ОтветитьGood tips. Nice presentation. Much appreciated. Liked and subscribed. BIG THANKS
ОтветитьThankfully I don’t have a death grip, my instructor made sure I was mindful of that from the start so I knew not to, my issue was staring at the instruments more than actually looking out. Gotta work on that lol
ОтветитьFully concur. Never had that problem when I started learning to fly. I fly the way I drive, and it’s pretty much with finger tips.
I wouldn’t refer to the death group as an f-16 death group though, as the f-16 sidestick is force sensitive and is flown the same way as explained in the video.
Great video and great tips many thanks
ОтветитьDude is an animal. Thanks!
ОтветитьTip #2 was very helpful. Can't wait to put it into practice.
ОтветитьDo you just have to hold right rudder during the whole flight in that case if power is on during the whole time? Wouldn't that get tiring?
ОтветитьSuper
ОтветитьVery cool points. Thanks
ОтветитьGood tips! Common sense stuff that never got sensed over til now
ОтветитьMy instructor says I have lead feet on the pedals
ОтветитьAt SCFC a simple way that I was taught regarding leveling off. To start a climb or descent, it's power then pitch (to let the nose rise or fall). To stop a climb, it's pitch then power (to let the airspeed build up). And to stop a descent, it's pitch then power but it's a bit more simultaneous so that your airspeed doesn't drop.
ОтветитьFrom flying r/c for years: isn’t there a rudder trim to help you with torque yaw? Kinda feels redundant to not have a death grip when you have a death stance?
ОтветитьThank you for putting this up.
Ответить3 great tips. I had 2 different CFI's during my training. The 1st one, although was a great-experienced pilot, didn't have great communication skills. I was always a little on edge with him. He taught me much but my 2nd CFI, got me to relax and land confidently. You explain things very clearly and easy to grasp. I have over 400 hours now but, still enjoy your tips for refreshing my brain to the very important basics. 👍
ОтветитьI just started my training at San Carlos, and this week I'll be flying in the same aircraft in the video! (N2370F)
ОтветитьAwesome advise re-enforced. Everything you have mentioned is consistently being reinforced by my CFI Peter Kestle Sydney Flight Academy.
ОтветитьF-16 death grip? You mean pulling 9+ G's and causing the crew chiefs to do an over G inspection? Because as a CFI and former F-16 avionics tech, you definitely don't death grip the F-16 stick, you can fly it with finger tip pressure as well (provided your not using the autopilot and "heading mode") ....I mean, yes before the aircraft is powered up, the stick doesn't "feel" to move (its fly by-wire), but there are force transducers once power is applied that help you feel the "feel" of the stick. the stall recovery is, you let go of stick...
ОтветитьThe one thing you have to remember when flying with trim is that you are flying with trim.
ОтветитьThanks a lot!
ОтветитьI have to use a death grip when I go pull to up to do as stall. My hand is not strong enough to pull up to a stall with 3 fingers. Other than that, I can fly with my fingers.
ОтветитьIf I flew with a. New student and they could 1) Maintain Straight and Level 2) trim correctly 3) Use the rudder properly then they were my new favourite person in life
ОтветитьTeach me high altitude stuff on the way to key west..
To have lunch!
Erik was impressed!!!
I have never flown an aircraft before. nor have I been in the front seat of any aircraft.. I have flown in the rear of larger planes but never in front. I will say this as someone wanting to get my commercial license to fly..
I bought MFS and have a 700$ flight sim control setup coming in the mail and have flown in VR with controls and have always worried how hard its going to be to fly in RL because of the difficulty flying in VR.
For example, Leveling off in the real work (like you have done) and the ability to maintain level and heading accurately with no big issues compared to the simulator is day and night! it is incredibly hard to maintain level settings in a simulator without the use of AP..
Seeing you level and maintain ALT has given me a HUGE confidence booster in my abilities to fly an aircraft in RL in the future.. Thank you!
Very helpful
ОтветитьFunnily enough, I learned all of these in DCS just from spending a lot of time in it, the fatigue of holding rudder/roll in place is quite annoying... wish I didn't live like a third worlder, flying is one of the only things I actually want to do in life, lol.
If you have the time to answer (and see this) some things I've always been curious about with trim is.. is there a "reset trim" button that just forces it all neutral at once (perhaps jarringly)? Or does it have to be manually pushed back to neutral with the tools you used to set it (say, a hand crank for example.)? And in line with this, when it comes to landing, do you land with specific trim settings, whatever the trim was you were flying with in the air smoothly, or with neutral trim so you can get a "proper" feel what the craft is doing? Since it's not something I'll probably ever get to actually find out, I'm asking because as you said: trim reacts to the air going past it, so I imagine the trim is constantly changing and that's probably not great when you're a split second from slamming into the ground...
I started flying with my fingers from day 1 because my dad told me to do that when I started driving years earlier. Piece of cake and you have a good feel of the airplane.
ОтветитьI am not 18 but I have been trying my best to be able to get my license when I turn how would you recommend to start learning
ОтветитьTurn the cheesy background noise off, you can't hear you, background crappy music sucks.
Ответитьi like to let my auto pilot trim the plane.....easiest way ever!
ОтветитьSo in other words - trim is your very best friend. Got it. 🙂
ОтветитьGonna use this info when I start flight training soon. Feel like the 1st one will come naturally as that is how I drive, but the 2nd one I think will need to come with some experience and some feeling it out
Ответить"Pitch Power and Trim, say it with me brothers and sisters. Like father, son and holy spirit, pitch power and trim." My flight instructor from 35 years ago still haunts me.
ОтветитьThe invented "Lindberg Reference" plug again - geez, plz stop with this. You are trying to hard to conjure something up that does not need this over-the-top name.
ОтветитьI impressed my flight instructor by getting my PPL at 100 hours 😏
ОтветитьI am a 90000hour professional stunt pilot and I know everything already so everyone shut up.
ОтветитьIts interesting your doing these demonstrations in the right seat versus the left seat.
ОтветитьGreat tips! You weren’t joking about all 3. I had issues with death grip first 2 lessons then started using finger tips, so helpful. They other 2 I’m still working on. Only 8.0 hours deep but loving all the maneuvers I’m learning!
ОтветитьYou don’t death grip an F16 either
ОтветитьYour instructor won’t be impressed. He’ll just be happy that there’s less to teach. 😅
ОтветитьImpress your instructor with full left rudder on base to final
Ответитьbest advise ever thank you
Ответитьbring back memory's of my training days back in the 90's...
ОтветитьBrilliant!!!
ОтветитьWow, I have that same pen.
