I’m so happy this was in my algorithm 😊this was a great message
Ответить"U would rather be respected than be liked" 👏🏻
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI really love that we need to act confidently, instead of feeling confident :) So many of us focus on feeling good and skip uncomfortable 'act on it' part. You are an inspiration Mel!
ОтветитьI love this.
ОтветитьI have struggled in a job that I feel I shouldn’t have applied for. It was offered to me by a friend so I felt I should take it as I was just moving back to the city I used to live in and she knew me and felt we could work well together. After seven weeks I’m finding that I’m just not an administrative person. I’ve been a hands-on caregiver and massage therapist for over 30 years. And it doesn’t have that I’m the oldest person in the office . I’m going to stick it out for my friend because she’s the office manager and she needs some time off. Your words have helped me walk into the office the past two days and decide to be willing. Thank you so far… I’ve only seen your first podcast on confidence. I will continue!
ОтветитьYou know Mel...i just want you to know that this is my most favorite episode of the entire podcast I've ever heard..i love you from Indonesia ❤️
ОтветитьI am so glad I found you .
ОтветитьAii
ОтветитьIt's a few months after originally posting ...
As I listened, I remembered, vividly, being so incredibly courageous, so many things I'd done.
At that time, non-traditionally female activities - racing cars, mechanically inclined AND could cook, sew, craft (create), so many hurdles overcome (technical career AND best pay - for a woman; again times were different even 10 or 20 years ago!)... and then, something happened.
Something I can't put my finger on.
With my ADHD brain, I began to wonder why and recognized the reasons (excuses?) ... and then ... I said to myself "Why I changed doesn't matter. I don't care anymore. It's okay for me to want to do something new and fun, NOT work-related (in this case learning a new language AND the ukulele) because THAT is what I've been thinking about forthe past three effing years! I'm 60+ years old, I know WTFeck I want."🤨
<<<deep breath>>> So...
1) Thank you Mel.
2) Plan of action... Tomorrow morning, I'm signing up for the language course I've been looking at AND getting the supplemental app for my phone. Then, I'm looking for a simple ukulele and course I can take on-line.
I'm looking to travel to some foreign countries and I want to read, write and speak with some level confidence.
And the ukulele? It's fun, a little funky, and based on feedback, fairly easy to learn. As I'm not looking to make it a career, just have some musical pleasure, music only I can make, in my life.
You really do teach Mel! I love true teachers and not gatekeepers ❤❤❤
ОтветитьYou are the best Mel! Thanks from Italy ❤
ОтветитьGreetings from Denmark, Mel! I just want to say Thank you so much for this podcast. I was out running this morning and listened to your podcasts for 2 hours! They give me hope and comfort and I love that you share your own journey. Personally I am in a place where anxiety suddenly has become a big part of my life and I am trying so hard to move past it.. or embrace it.. or whatever I need to do. You have been in my ears a lot these past couple of months. Again huge thanks! Warm regards, Mai
ОтветитьI would love to meet you .
ОтветитьI want to thank you so much, I have been suppressing for so long. Your videos are bringing so much light to me . Today is day one . I have more work to do , again I wanna thank you ! I can finally relate , and understand.
Ответить'Confidence is willingness to try. It's a skill.' And anyone can try. It means everyone is confident because anyone can try. That simple elaboration is capable of illuminating confidence. Precious! 🙏🏻
ОтветитьThis is so good! Imposter syndrome means you are trying and you are learning. This is the first time I’ve heard this and the perspective is empowering. 🫶🏾
ОтветитьI agree with MOST of this, but sometimes "trying" is a mistake. Sometimes, it's better to sit tight and do nothing.
ОтветитьSimply inspiring❤❤
I'm 57 starting over from ground up after an acrimonious divorce of 8 years. Practical tools and inspiration that will help me transition in my new home, new business, new life. Thank you for this impactful episode❤❤

Ответить"Confidence ist the willingness to try" (Mel Robbins)
This is so cool. Just needed this today.
Oh I am a life-long trier. Never thought that this would make me confident.
So wonderful.
I wish I had listened to this a few months ago!! And the neck rash is so real, I got it every single time when I made a big presentation or was anxious about a certain outcome. My face was full of rashes emerging around my eyes, nose and mouth in the last 6 months, that were full of stress and I was trying to accomplish my tasks along with the imposter syndrome 😢. I am glad I am listening to this now, better late than never! Thank you so much @Mel
ОтветитьThat’s brilliant, imposter syndrome means you’re trying something new and you’re uncomfortable! I love it! ❤
ОтветитьWhat do you do when you are willing to try and give it your all and get your ass handed to you? I was hired for a job that I didn't realize I was inadequately trained for. I did everything I could to catch up, but I simply could not gain competancy quickly enough, and the experience very nearly broke me mentally and physically. It was a year-long contract that I couldn't leave without creating a permanent strike on my record, so I couldn't give notice even when I knew it wasn't working. It was a very public position and I had to face my inadequacies in front of a room full of people daily. By the time I was able to leave, my confidence was in shambles and has never fully recovered. I probably have some PTSD. How do you rebuild confidence when your willingness to try wasn't enough and ended in trauma?
