Basicaly heres whats happening. Games want to be more real, graphics want to go matrix realism, but to do that you need more power and power hungry huge gpus. In a sence we hit the ceiling it seems with power to performance. The future is either servers for gaming PC's or Ai taking over helping out the gpu render rames.

I wish I could use matrix interpolation for games that are lock to a certain fps. I've been playing Legend of zelda oot with that set to 240 fps to match my 240hz and man this game looks amazing at 240. the best part is it has 0 effect to game logic.

Fsr 3.0 just released, and its made dlss 3.0 absolutely redundant.

Yeah yeah we love linus... But anthony bruh... this guy knows what he's talking about. And the way he says "framerate" lol dunno has me want to make more fps. I'd buy a 3050 if he suggested it.

The question is does your system have to work harder while using DLSS or framed generation or both?

i have a 4090 and 7950x and.... i find the quality is best with dlss off but.... like in a game like red dead redemption 2 something good fornthusbtest yall leave out alot.... my monitor still stays mostly capped at 144 fps in benchmarks it gets much higher but... yeah theres no need to use dlss cuz the framerates already higher than my monitor goes which alows me to enjoy my 4k 1000nit hdr display smoothly and not worry about that choice lol, one day it may matter tho, but in the distant future for me, maybe sooner for gamers on cheaper cards in the future

What does it all mean? I have a 1080p monitor and can play now at 4k? Or is it that i still play 1080p but grafics card only taking 720p? Thank you for answering

Jeez watching you guys argue over this nonsense x) I have a 4090 and guess what, frame generation is fantastic. I can play Dying Light 2 in Ultra settings, Raytracing on, on a 5k display and get 180fps. Other games push 500's. Linus' channel gave you no information about this feature at all except for "how it feels" and you all write 488 different opinions already under the top comment no one can reply to anymore -_-.

So in the future games will push systems to the limit. Maximum visual effects that would tank any systems, but with AI frame generation it will be smooth and playable. This is going to be awesome

Hmm i don't like dlss 3 or care for it. For me compromising my visuals for high frames is not an option no matter how small the compromise and it seems pretty damn terrible from this video.

My issue with this is that Nvidia is currently advertising the 4060 on platforms like instagram like it's twice as fast as the 3060, even though half of the frames are fake. That's just straight up misleading.

How badly aged this video. From the hopes of decoupling inputs from the framerate to many newly released Unreal Engine games with CPU utilizing problems which killed the performance even for a 4090 with massive stutters and huge input latency, which DLSS frame generation could not help at all.

It would be nice if the system could somehow learn while you were playing and then reduce the artifacts.

Sadly, once again we've left out a comparison to uncapped vsync-off latency on low settings.
Input delay is way more important than a fancy image.

how long do you think it is until living room TV's come with Tensor cores to perform these kinds of frame interpolations
kind of like what was going on in the 2010's like was mentioned in the video, but higher quality

How can I avoid screen tearing when using Frame Generation? It doesn't allow you to use vsync? I've tried setting the in game frames to 60 and there is still tearing :(

WET PAINT!
WET PAINT! - 25.04.2023 11:44

it would be kind of cool to have a 240 hz 4k monitor and use dlss 3.0 to get the 240 hz frame rate but have the responsiveness of 120 hz (or whatever the latency equals out to). then you get the buttery smooth image quality of 240hz 4k and the responsiveness of 120hz at 4k. could that be a realistic use for dlss 3.0 when like say the rtx 5090 comes out? cause obviously 4k 240hz with dlss 2.0 isnt really feasibly right now but maybe with the rtx 5090 and dlss 3.0 it could be some what of a reality? once more 240 hz 4k tvs and monitor become more popular that is on top of the release of the rtx 5090.
