I lived in Japan several decades ago for 5 years. If they hadn’t put the Japanese in camps we could easily have lost the war. Remember Japanese in camps had it way better than 18 year old men drafted and sent to fight and die. Military service was not voluntary either. NOW we take it for granted that we won the war but THEN it could have gone either way and we had to do what was needed to win. Japanese are very honorable and dutiful people as a whole. Some would have seen it as their duty to serve the emperor whether they liked it or not
