This COULD have been a really good movie, but it´s 2023 ...and "wokeness" mercilessly strangles & sucks every inch of quality out of it + makes it a torture to watch.

Yeah, it´s all there ...the peaceful and philosophical `Magical Gentleman-Negro´ (a Harvard student & highly qualified doctor, who now has to hire on board as a sailor, bc of racism). The tough romanian `Mary-Sue´ (a victim at first, but later she beats ass + dies as a heroIne in the end...sob). Stupid and incompetent white men, at least one of them is a racist. A cowardly traitorous asian christian & crucifixes that have zero effect on the old white Male (...ehm, the bleak old Vampyre...), bc y´know, christianity is a joke.

`Magical Gentleman-Negro´ survives ,of course he does, and will hunt down + destroy that dirty old Vampyr in the not awaited sequel to this laame and bloodless flick... a sequel that will probably reveal that Van Helsing is gay, Jonathan Harker is a wimp, Dr. Seward is a muslim + Lucy Westenra is non-binary.

"The Last Voyage of the Demeter"(2023) is a good enough Vampire horror movie!The Dracula is aggressive and very scary!

This movie is more scary than the 1992 version of Dracula. If I say this is the most scariest version of Dracula that would not be exaggerating .

I'm convinced that everyone who enjoyed this film turned their brain off in the midst of watching it

Writers - We've written the untold mystery of what happened on The Demeter, the creepy ship that arrives in Whitby with all the screw slain and the captain lashed to the Helm in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
Studio - I love it. Low cost, close quarters horror with an all encapsulating story with options to expand if it does well.
Production - Let's start immediately.
Casting - Let's choose some little known but proven actors to really give this film the cult feel it deserves.
Cinematographer - I'll be sure to make it claustrophobic, dark, wet, bloody and terrifying.
Music - Hey didn't Smashing Pumpkins have a song that said "Vampire" in it that one time? I'll use that! 🙃
Studio - Brilliant. Also, remember to make the main character black. And he Has to survive, no matter what the original text says.
Production - On it.
Casting - On it.
Writers - Erm...?

Literary masterpiece? Dracula. Cinematic masterpiece? Alien. This is Alien on a ship, rather than spaceship. Fun tho. Excellent creature design and killings!! Beastly indeed. Worth a ride for any Dracula/Alien fan.

Recently finished Dracula in my EFL class. An incredible book. Love the way how Dracula died with the triumphant look in his eyes. Pure evilness. They really should do a TV series according to the plot of the original version.

Awesome movie. Dark - yet a monster movie unlike those others. The knocks on board - and then knocks under hat & coat in London! Sophistication doesn't hide the fear.

I can tell this is going to be a piece of shit just from the thumbnail and poster.

Dracula here is Poorly produced compared to Marcus Of Underworld Evolution and other Villains 🧛‍♂️ 2023 bout to turn 2024 😂. This cant be 45 Million Movie Budget i doubt it.

The scariest thing about this garbage movie is how ESG compliant it is. Imagine that, the star is another persecuted, but well-educated "minority". They were overacting so the directing was terrible too.

Can someone tell me is this out on streaming or to rent / buy yet for home viewing? I can’t find it anywhere on prime / Netflix/ rakuten / Apple TV etc? I’m in UK if that makes any difference

This movie was actually fantastic. Can't recall how many times I've already watched it. Hopefully this movie gets a sequel where Mr Clemens hunts down the devil/Dracula. Sadly that is never going to happen due to the book. No survivors. In movie Clemens was the only survivor. I would still like to see a sequel even though it wouldn't match the book but who cares the book author was stupid for killing off every person.. Most like didn't want to continue the story line or just laziness in general.. surprisingly. You would assume money talks an people walks type of thing. But not in this case... Speaking of sequels. How are they going to make a avatar 3 before avatar 2 even came out in theaters but not think of a sequel for this wonderful piece of entertainment..

Such a massive disappointment! A great idea utterly squandered by bad writing and corny CGI effects.

I recently rented this film on Amazon Prime at it is truly One of the scariest horror films you will ever see seriously - Very disturbing.😳

Romania geographically is in the middle of Europe. The premise "out at see with no land in sight" is sooo silly. Even if they would have used a sailboat they could have stayed close to the shore for most of the time while going around the European continent crossing the Mediteranean sea. Again, silly silly premise. Also Dracula comes from the Bran region so they would have had to take the coffin to the Black Sea going the opposite way from London to board a ship.

Underworld is still and forever will be the best Vampire Movie !! 😎

People should not watch this movie for real, have no idea how it has a 6.1/10 from imdb, its never easy to adapt a movie from a book, but the all the movie is full of things that make no sense they were able to even change head wounds from side to side from a frame to another, a fog that comes and go just while a thunderstorm is happening at the same time, save yourselfs a 1hr 50min from your time for real....

I really wanted to see this film and I was prepared to buy it on Blu-ray but NO UK release! Insane as it cost over 43 million to make and is full of British actors.

I never knew black people had it so good in the 1800’s. Looks like all my school lessons were wrong. Thanks Hollywood 👍

And another thing to consider is that Dracula (again, like in the book) can take on different forms. Mist, rats, a dog, can hypnotize people, control the weather, etc.

So many wannabe Skakespears in the comment section typing out their usual essays. If you liked the movie, fine. If you didn't like the movie, that too is fine. But don't take up everyone else's time ranting on and on about a fucking dog of all things. And one more thing, Dracula (like in the book) kept moving around and hiding out in different parts of the ship making it difficult for anyone to FIND HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Gee, "critical thinking"? What's that?
