RE the contrast of cady being raised in africa & having no idea about highschool, teenagehood & girlhood: one could also criticize that specific point as tina fey’s writing of this also suggests that these 3 specific aspects don’t really exist in africa & thus highlight that this is a solely american perspective with slight (quite obvious at times) xenophobic and/or racist tones! really love hearing about your opinions on academic writing & essays in general in your vlogs!
